Mesa Maguey is a lovely restaurant with a great ambience and kind staff. The food is excellent, with popular dishes like guacamole, empanadas, romaine salad, and mole. The to-go margaritas and mezcalritas are also a hit. Other recommended items include the chicken flautas, which are crispy and savory, and the Barbacoa, which is particularly delicious.
The restaurant offers Oaxacan cuisine with a creative chef, beautiful presentation, and yummy dishes from moles to veggie tacos to grilled meats. The decor is attractive and artsy, and the service is friendly and caring. On Sundays from 5 to 8 PM, there is a great DJ in the back room playing salsa, cumbia, merengue, and bachata, with dancers of all levels and no cover charge.
