Miharu is a take out only ice cream shop located in the Oakland food hall (Jingletown). You can check their instagram for flavor offerings. It being Lunar NY... We wanted to try their version of Nian Gao ice cream. WOW. I have to say, they nailed it. There are little pieces of nian gao in the ice cream and you can taste the flavor through the ice cream itself. If you're patient enough and wait for it to slightly soften, that's when it's the best! I just wish there were more bits of sticky goodness. Each pint doesn't come cheap so this is definitely a treat.

Let me start this review with what I think is a key piece of information about the location/ordering: This business set up was beyond weird. I have never been to an ice cream business that didn't have its own storefront. I'm not sure how or if it's even possible to order in person. I made my order through their website online. It's located in the Oakland Food Hall, and a bunch of businesses share the space with one central area for people to pick up their orders. *Side note: Do NOT go into that bathroom unless it's an emergency; I don't know if it's always that way, but at 8PM it was disgusting. Now, on to the ice cream. Despite the note above, it's a five star review because the ice cream is just that good. It's up there with the best ice creams I've ever had, top 3 for sure. Very creamy. Extremely unique flavors. I had the 8oz with flavor 1 as Lychee Ice Cream with Rose Raspberry Swirl and flavor 2 as Toasty Marshmallows & Yaki Imo (Sweet Potato). I could tell the Marshmallows & Yaki Imo was much sweeter than the Lychee, but even though they were distinctly different flavors, I still didn't mind eating the area where the flavors touch/mix. I usually hate that part of a double scoop, when the flavors clash, but that was not an issue here! Both flavors were so amazing! I want to come back and try all of them. I'm certainly glad I don't live anywhere around here or I'd be in trouble, but I can't wait to come back the next time I'm in this general area. The price is pretty steep; the scoops were not generous. It comes out to be about $10 (with tax) for a TIIIIIINY 8oz (or you can get a even tinier scoop at about $7 for 4oz. Trust me, it's better to go with 8oz. Either way, you get to pick two flavors for either size. You can also order pints for about $15. However, the taste and flavors will compel me to come back time and time again!Very happy to have come across this delicious business (because of Yelp! They don't have an actual storefront, so there's no way I would've come across it otherwise)!

Got to experience the organic goodness via Caviar pairings. $14.50/pint - loved the Thai green tea and lychee rose. Would get both again. If I had to choose one it would be the Thai green tea, super floral, creamy and bright. Enjoyed East bay's own Petite Lafleur's salted chocolate honeycomb, always see at the grocer but wasn't really sure what it was. Airy delight! Great topper for ice cream or just a sweet snack. Small batch, organic and unique flavors, sets a high standard.

Miharu is not a standalone ice cream shop, but instead is part of the Oakland Food Hall cloud kitchen formerly known as Jingletown Eats. You order online and pick up your order at a counter that's shared with all the other members of the cloud kitchen and which is perpetually busy with delivery drivers. As for the ice cream, you'll find unique, often Asian-influenced flavors. Although my tiny 4-ounce scoop was an eyebrow-raising $5.99, I could split it between two flavors: cream cheese cookie butter and oolong tea. Both were simply OK. Worth a shot if you're already picking up or ordering delivery from another eatery here.

The best ice cream shop in Oakland! Everything is made in house. They have a lot of unique flavors that you cant get anywhere else. Ube cheesecake, Banana nut, peanut butter honeycomb are some of our favorites. They have amazing nondairy flavors (that actually taste good) as well. We love getting the banana splits with the bruleed bananas and all the toppings.

This is not a shop! It's a place for Uber eats drivers to pick up orders. Not for the public, unless you like hanging out in a gross empty storefront for 1/2 hour waiting for an overpriced scoop of ice cream.

Ghost kitchen that I ordered from a kiosk. After waiting around 30 minutes, there wasn't even anyone around to try to cancel the order. Honestly could've churned my own ice cream faster.

Amazing ice cream! We had a lychee berry swirl ice cream and a lemon berry ice cream. The flavor was spot on and not too sweet!

I'm not even done with my ice cream but I had to leave this review! It's a Saturday night and I was craving ice cream, so I jumped on Grubhub and found miharu. Apparently I'd ordered from them once before but it wasn't as memorable as tonight's order. Mainly because of the lemon with raspberry swirl ice cream I got on my Sundae.... It's the best ice cream flavor I've ever had!! Top 1. I'm ordering a pint tomorrow

As someone who's picky about their ice cream, I would definitely recommend Miharu. I was in town and was craving some ice cream. Their flavors instantly stood out to me and I had to try it! I got a mixed scoop of lychee with raspberry rose swirl and oolong tea. It came out to be $6.50, which is a bit on the pricier side, but worth it to try it. Oolong tea tasted great and was what I expected out of a tea flavored ice cream. It wasn't too sweet and the texture was smooth and creamy! The lychee flavor was my favorite. The lychee flavor was pretty subtle and I tasted more of the raspberry/rose in each bite. But together it tasted amazing. As with the oolong tea, the lychee ice cream itself was smooth. However, the raspberry chunks were icy and distracting. Overall, great ice cream! I would love to try out different flavors the next time I'm here.

There is something incredible that happens when you taste something and intrinsically understand the ingenuity, effort, intent and straight-up love that the chef put into it. There is so much creativity in their ice cream and their flavors. Their shrikhand flavor (cardamom , saffron, almond, pistachio) made especially for Dawali is one of the best ice cream experiences of my life. (Can I please place my order now so I don't miss out in October?!?)

Ice cream is high quality and they have some legitimately interesting flavors. Been trying to lose weight so I haven't gotten anything from there in a while and I miss it lol.

Creamy, delicious, decadent, euphoric ice cream. I ordered 3 pints and tried the lychee raspberry rose swirl, cookies and cream, and oolong (my fav). Each had such a creamy consistency, not too overpowering, but the flavor profiles were there. It is a bit pricey for a pint, however totally worth it. I haven't tried their ice cream in person, but love to order their pints through yelp, or door dash. Highly recommend.

The pictures don’t really illustrate to me that it is a ghost kitchen. Thought it would be a nice place to sit and eat some ice cream.I ended up getting some ice cream anyway since I made the journey and was surprised. It was a good “don’t judge a book by its cover” scenario because the ice cream itself was great. I’d go for the sundae again.
