The food and the folks that work here are just amazing. Great atmosphere. I am not a vegetarian but I was blown away by the food here -- just great food period. All of the staff here are really friendly. I highly recommend.

We had an excellent first experience at Millennium. My wife and I had been wanting to try it for quite some time and we are certainly glad we did. Excellent service and superb food. We look forward to dinning there again. This is our new favorite restaurant.

The outdoor patio does not have a ton of ventilation really so if you're worried about catching bugs, that maybe good to know. It is great that they have heating lumps and blankets there. I love the desserts and the drinks but not super crazy about the appetizers and the mains we ordered.

Atmosphere, food and staff all make it a memorable experience every time. We were there for the annual mushroom dinner. Fantastic!

All the courses were absolutely delicious. It was the special mushroom focused prize fixe and it was a completely pleasurable meal.

I bought the Millennium cookbook for my wife the Christmas before last and committed to cooking every recipe within a year. I competed all of the appetizers, pasta, and main courses, and made a good effort on the salads and soups. So when we traveled to the Bay Area, we had to come to the restaurant. We had reservation for eight and were promptly seated on the outside heated porch. Service was efficient and cordial; except the waiter was not press with my anecdote about the cookbook. The food and the presentation was excellent The ambiance was conductive for good conversation for our large group and everyone had a great time. Highly recommend!

We always enjoy the food and experience at Millennium. The staff always provides excellent recommendations and service. The dishes are complex with 4-5 completely different items combined into one dish. Things that would take you all day to prepare at home. So it is a great experience and we feel pampered. The flavors are complex and pairings superb! The inside and outside are great for seating. Nice selection of wines and cocktails.

Millennium has been on my list for a while and finally made it out for some dinner! Exciting menu as with most upscale vegan establishments. The mains looked delish, but sharing starters is also another great way to experience the menu. Ordered Roasted Badger Red Flame Beets, Bun Cha, Polenta Gratin, and Cornmeal Crusted Maitake. Ooof, everything was exceptional! It was a lot of food but good split between two. Most plates came out in waves, so it felt like prix fixe without being prix fixe and more customization over what you want. The prix fixe option looked good and seems priced reasonably well. Paired it all with the zero proof Cassia which was splendid! Dessert was the coffee ice cream, which I asked for off the menu (it comes as the option in the prix fixe) and something else I completely forgot what it was and didn't take a pic of the dessert menu, sadly! Overall super enjoyed this place and would come back!

This restaurant is weirdly afraid of salt and spices.

The service was amazing, the ingredients are super fresh and plating + atmosphere is great. The food sadly has mild - no flavor. Well the ingredients do taste fresh but I kept wanting the dishes to be seasoned. They seem to be afraid of spice and salt here. For example the fried oyster mushroom (a fried dish known to be a little salty) had no salt at all. For the price it is, it’s disappointing that there is no seasoning/ flavor. It’s also such an easy fix. If the seasoning was applied correctly this restaurant could easily become 5 stars. 2 people: 2 mains, 2 apps, a dessert and some drinks and the bill came out to about $150 without tip included. It’s 1/3 only vegan finer dining experiences in the bay so I will probably eat here again in the future. Hopefully the chef can adjust the menu to be better seasoned between now and my next visit.

We had a reservation for a party of 7 and were seated almost immediately. We had 6 different entrees, several appetizers & 1 dessert. Everyone liked what they had as well as what they tried of others. Great service!

I have eaten here several times, and each time I swear that I will not come back. But like Charlie Brown and the football, I keep hoping that it will work.

Dinner here last night started with a waiter cautioning against several dishes. Not confidence-inspiring. We ordered salad and soup -- and they were basic but very good.

Then came the mains. A burger that crumbled into a pile of lentils and had to be consumed with a spoon. A pastry brick that tasted like a brick. The bill was $75/head.

Vegan food is just not that complicated. I keep thinking that this place will step up. We literally do better with Purple Carrot, the vegan cook-by-numbers kits.

Millennium Restaurant in Oakland offers an excellent vegan dining experience. We loved the flavorful starters and well-crafted main courses. Desserts were just okay, but the cozy ambiance and overall quality made it a very enjoyable meal.
