Not good at all. Got the steak and cheese with everything... heaping portion of dry meat and cheese smoothed in mayo and topped with 5 shredded lettuce and tomato. The steak is very chewy, some pieces felt like meat bubble gum. Cash only which worked out because I only bought one sandwich and shared it. Glad I didn't buy another. Can't recommend this place.

That review about greasy sandwich, he's not about the way sandwiches are made. Turkey and ham was off the chain. Put Arby's to shame on meat portions. Gr8 service. BZ. Keep it up.
Absolutely terrible overpriced hot pastrami sandwich. No sides offered aside from overcooked fries. This is why people go back to the franchise food stores. Just ugh!

Best cheesesteak in California, and I’ve had plenty over the years. The ambiance, for me, was childhood in the 80s in the hood, even with the greasy ms pac-man on the side. It’s behind Valero, unmarked building, that looks like a motel. The meat is high quality, service is efficient, cash only, puts flavor. One of the real-it’s places in Oakland.

This was my first time here and it was a little difficult to find. The signage was written on paper placed on the window. This is a no frills type shop. I ordered the bbq steak hoagie with everything. It was delicious and full of meat. They only take cash and the next time I will try the regular steak hoagie.

Best sandwiches around. I moved from the neighborhood some years back but still stop in whenever I'm back in town. Took my daughter in with me yesterday and she said she now understands why I love this spot so much! She had the pastrami hoagie and I got a veggie. Still as good as it always was.

The burger hoagie was a joke. Heard about this place so decided to give it a shot. Cash only. Unfriendly owner, ghetto, tiny portions of low quality product. They are robbing this lower income area blind. Food cost is probably 10-12% of what they are charging. Fries were dark and fried in old oil.

I know.... They take a hit on atmosphere but let me explain..... This little locally known spot may have the best sandwiches 🥪😜 in the bay! And I'm not kidding. I first came here when I was 15 and nothing has changed, the consistency is overwhelming. The cheese steaks ranged supreme here, real 🍖 meat, not that shaved frozen stuff. You'll see patrons leaving with 4, or 5 this is serious business 😂, They have a pastrami also that I believe will rival any you get in New York, Fry's always nice 👍 to order. Only thing is the dining room hasn't been updated since the 90s , practically same table and chairs. Some people might find it a little rough but for me it's like coming home. Very few businesses have survived in Oakland this long. They even have a News post from the 70s giving thanks to the founder. And yeah it's in a rough neighborhood but to get to the good food that's where you gotta go😂👍 good job guys!! I'll be back on Friday for another, and don't forget the Tiki punch.
