Delicious mofawar and pistachio baklava, with perfect sweetness. Chill vibe and friendly staff.
Mohkha House is a delicious, lowkey coffee house with various vegan options. In terms of which plant based milks they carry, they currently carry: Oat, Almond, and Soy milk. I believe there is a 50 cent upcharge for choosing any of the plant based milks but well worth it to expand your options on the menu. In regard to their pastries, they have a few savory vegan pastries along with plenty of sweet gluten free / vegan cheesecakes or vegan chocolate cakes. The standout was certainly the savory chocolate chip cookie with sesame seeds. The space is very spacious and welcoming as there are plenty of places to relax on a couch with your food and work on your laptop/notebooks simultaneously. They close at 9:30pm every day too which a major plus considering most coffee houses are closed after 5 or 6pm.
The best Yemeni drinks and regular coffees, delicious food and interior is lovely - feels like you’re in Sanaa!
A wonderful community coffee house featuring delicious Yemeni delicacies and rich expresso.
Truly a 5 star place on everything! Great space to work/study, read, hang with friends- you name it. Free wifi & outlets, super friendly service, great food/drink options. Ample indoor and outdoor seating, half the room having wooden tables/chairs and half being more comfortable and cushioned. I saw a fair amount of people working on laptops or papers when I came in but also some friends just chatting and lounging together so the space is really set up for both, which is nice. Also great for working if you want to sit down and stay at a place for a while or stay late- it’s open until 9:30pm every day!! In my experience, there were less people as the day crept toward later evening. The interior is beautiful and a whole vibe.
I never drink coffee but the iced mohka house latte I got here was super yummy and I’d get it again. I’d also recommend the puffy honey bread with cream cheese (both pictured).
Nut allergen warning- there are a lot of nuts, especially in the desserts, but the staff was good about checking and communicating with me around this.
Great cafe with great atmosphere! They also got comfortable couch. One of the best cafes in Oakland!
Really enjoyed my time at Mohka House! The vibe is cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot to relax or catch up with friends. The coffee was rich and flavorful, and the snacks were just right—not too heavy, but super satisfying. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the area.
Seriously try their coffee, good spot 👍
A beautiful, serene cafe with good WiFi, spacious seating, and clearly marked plentiful vegan options both sweet and savory. The chocolate chip halwah cookie is incredible. They just opened up a sit down kitchen next door too I will definitely be trying.
I'm glad that the worker is against terrorism, makes me feel safe

I paid $25 for two pieces of cheese bread (fatayer) and a large coffee which was more like a medium size. The cheese bread was old and stale. I threw them out because they were too dry to eat. The ambiance is very nice though, and the coffee was okay. Just way over priced, especially for East Oakland.

I tried the house made honeycomb bread with a Jubani and the balance between the two was perfect. The Jubani has a lighter taste that feels closer to tea with the multiple layers of spice flavors. The honeycomb bread is a must try, and pulls apart into bite-sized pieces, which makes eating it while sipping very pleasant. Looking forward to staying to enjoy a tea or coffee pot with friends soon!
Dietary restrictions: I saw several vegan options in the food case. Lookin forward to tasting more since they are in our neighborhood.

We decided to visit Mohka House after a friend visited, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! The coffee was outstanding-full of flavor and perfectly brewed. The desserts were fresh and delicious, adding a sweet touch to the visit. I also loved how clean and inviting the space was, with a relaxed vibe that made it easy to enjoy the atmosphere. The service was excellent too, with friendly staff who made us feel welcome. I'll definitely be back, and I highly recommend Mohka House for anyone looking for a great café experience!
