This was our first time using Oaklandia Cafe x Bakery for an event. They exceeded our expectations for our recent catering order for approximately 40 people. Timely delivery was complemented by a delightful culinary journey that left all attendees thoroughly pleased and impressed. The vegetarian and chicken sandwiches were undoubtedly the stars of the show. Both options were prepared with care and attention to detail, resulting in flavors that were not only delicious but also memorable. The vegetarian sandwiches showcased a vibrant array of fresh vegetables and flavorful spreads, appealing to both vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. Meanwhile, the chicken sandwiches were tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, earning rave reviews from everyone who indulged in them.Special appreciation goes to Kat, whose prompt responses and assurance alleviated any apprehensions as first-time patrons.Overall, I highly recommend Oaklandia Cafe x Bakery for any catering needs. Their delicious food, impeccable presentation, and exceptional service make them a standout choice for any occasion. We were thoroughly impressed and look forward to the opportunity to enjoy their culinary delights again in the future.

We decided to try this place out since it was so close to work. Located in the Ask Bldg replacing what used to be Specialty's. The interior looks pretty much the same. We were greeted by the employees, except the one taking our order was a bit off putting. She seemed annoyed with us and was not very friendly. Once we placed our order we waited about 10- 15 mins before our food was ready. We both ordered pastrami sandwiches. It comes on ciabatta bread but tbh the bread did not seem like ciabatta. The texture was different. Super light and airy it honestly was not filling which was strange. I thought the sandwich was decent. It was pretty small for what you pay for. I never ever finish a sandwich I get anywhere. I gobbled this one up and did not feel stuffed so I know it was way small lol. It was decent, not great and for the price I don't think I will be back.

Oaklandia Cafe & Bakery opened where Specialty Cafe was. Refurnished the space to have spacious seating and an ambitious bakery, cafe, & eats destination. Offerings: breakfast, desserts, salads, sandwiches, tea, smoothies, blended coffee, coffee, pastries... Drink: tiger eye (m.,4.85) -chai latte with a shot of expresso. Smooth tasting, definitely an eye opening. -pastries, sandwiches looked tempting. Not something i usually eat so passed. Drips: -quick service. Coffee ready in minutes. Plenty of seating available... -lotsa arty ambience on walls....

Gluten free is an option if it's not a little expensive. Beautiful part of town. Staff was very kind.

Food was fantastic, minus one star because they didn't have any decaf coffee, :( We got a hot chocolate, which was too sweet for me, and a decaf chai, which was bland compared to my expectations. Service was plenty fast and friendly on a holiday when we were the only ones in there. The space is huge, it almost feels like a cafeteria, but everything is fresh made on site, and the quality is very high. We had a spinach, egg and cheese sandwich on a croissant with cilantro cream sauce, which I loved. My partner thought the sauce was excessive/too rich. We also had a morning bun (a little too sweet for me, but the pastry was perfect), and a hot cross bun, which was outstanding. We took a flaky apple turnover for later, and I'm saving it for dessert tonight. This place is close, I plan to go back for the croissants if nothing else. Hopefully they'll have decaf so I can try a coffee.

This is one of my favorite spots to eat in Oakland. It's always worth the push to 12th street, especially when i'm in the area. I had the new Veggie Protein Bowl and it was so yummy and filling, yet light. Service was quick and efficient. The ambiance is delightful; it's spacious and green, allowing for work to get done with a healthy dose of conversation and relaxation. Please visit when you can!

First time in. Visited for a chai, but found no one at the counter except one person--then maybe 1 or 2 people in the kitchen area. My friend and I stood there for a while, understanding the worker might be busy. However, a simple greeting or acknowledgment would've been appreciated. We decided to leave, and only then did the worker say "Thank you." Proper greeting would have made us stay to order. Disappointing experience. :c

Oaklandia is a wonderful cafe oasis in downtown Oakland. A very short walk from BART and bus stops, the food, service and atmosphere make it one of my favorite places to relax and dine in Oakland. It's spacious, beautiful and clean with a great menu and I love the Black and Brown mocha.

Great food, coffee, and friendly staff! A go-to spot for coffee in Oakland. I really appreciate the care for the community they show.

This is an outstanding find in downtown Oakland. My wife and I wanted to locate a coffee shop near by. We found Oaklandia yesterday and decided to check it out. WOW! What a surprise, this establishment is first class and the food is outstanding. So relaxing and we had the opportunity to meet the owner Latorra who was so kind and generous to us. She made us feel at home. The coffee and desserts where so fresh as they bake their products on site. This young lady is forth generation West Oakland. This is a husband and wife family business. Please come to "555 12th Street, Oakland, California 94607" and experience the warm welcome we received. Great experience!

While the worker at the register was exceptionally kind and attentive (kudos to her), the food fell short. I was thrilled to find a breakfast spot offering turkey sausages, as this is a rare option. Typically, it's always pork sausages, and since I don't consume pork, it was an immediate yes for me. The service was quick, with a pickup time of less than 20 minutes. However, my overall satisfaction was lacking. The sandwich itself was overly dry, lacking mayo or any spread to unify the elements on both sides of the bread. Additionally, the ends were somewhat tough, resulting in an unenjoyable eating experience. While the sandwiches initially appeared substantial, the hard ends and insufficient egg made about an inch on each side inedible. The ratio of bread thickness to egg was also off. Also, who knows maybe this was only an off day where someone used older or even gluten-free bread. Overall, I would not order it again. On a positive note, they included Cholula packages in the bag for a touch of spice, which I appreciated and found necessary to combat the dryness. Kudos to them for that thoughtful addition. Yes, I take my breakfast sandwiches quite seriously.

We need to continue to support businesses that are in the community and by community members. Don’t let them come in and push us out because the love of food, culture, and vibes is lost and the quality quickly evaporates. When you do things with the soul you can feel it. 2024 let’s run their books up!!
