I really want to like this place. It’s very cute inside, nice tables outside, and there’s really nothing else comparable nearby. But I don’t.
I visited for the third time since it opened today. My coffee was room temperature. The broccoli soup was also room temperature and underseasoned. The hummus was extremely salty. Table service men setting down the plates on the table but not asking who had what or where they should go.
You’re supposed to bus your own table, which means the tables are not always clean. Ours had crumbs on it and there were crumbs on the chairs as well.
It’s popular but I have to assume that is mostly because there is nothing comparable nearby.

I ordered a salad with chickpea tofu and it was delicious. I think it’s rare to find such hearty, good quality food - even from places which claim they are doing this.
Thank you!

Literally THE best tater tots and avocado toast. I get the avocado toast whenever I come here. Can't even get it anywhere else now because it doesn't compare to here. Honestly everything on their menu is really good. Their coffee is also amazing! Definitely recommend stopping by here (and getting their avocado toast)

Disappointed by this cafe. My daughter and I went there for lunch on a Friday afternoon and were excited about the menu of sandwiches, especially the hot chicken with spicy aïoli. Because we had our dog with us, we sat outside in the sun on a beautiful day. The traffic on San Pablo was very loud and we sat there for 25 minutes waiting for our two sandwiches. Although the place was not full, it appeared that they did not have proper staffing because many of diners had order tents on the table waiting for their food to arrive.
We were starving. and were so happy that our sandwiches finally arrived. Although the baguette was crusty and the spicy aïoli tasty, the inside of the sandwich was made up of iceberg, lettuce, and sad, tomatoes, and onions-it essentially looked like a Safeway sandwich. On top of that, the side was ruffles potato chips which was lazy and cheap. Btw, you can substitute the chips for a salad for $3 extra - really?
Sadly I won’t be returning.

Picking up for Uber eats at Paradise Park Cafe and I just had a very uncomfortable experience 😔 I enter the cafe I showed the cashier or whom I believe the cashier was because he was standing in front of the cash register and I saw him hand a order to a customer I gave them the normal spill hey I have a pickup for Uber customer gave the name and let him look at my phone so he could see the order I noticed the lady that was working with him seem to be very interested in the order I had no problem with showing her the phone but she didn't ask the gentleman told me it'll be about a 5-minute wait I had no problem with that stood outside when 5 minutes was up I came back inside the young lady brought me the order but the energy didn't seem pleasant she asked me for the order name I gave her the name on the order but then she asked me for an item list how many items did the customer order which I never paid attention to I expressed it was two items but her energy wasn't as friendly and pleasant as the gentleman that I was dealing with maybe it was my look I don't know what it is but I didn't mean to offend her but it sure did bumm my day out energy means a lot when you're working with the public.

What a cute and cozy place! Stopped by at 3 PM on a weekday, it was PACKED 😅 Had to strategize my move for a table. Ordered an almond croissant and coffee, surprised at how reasonably priced the food was, given this is such a busy street in Oakland and so popular. I hope it stays that way.
Used WiFi to get some work done, while the sun sank over the buildings out front.
A Verb for Keeping Warm, one of the bay area’s finest yarn stores, is now right next door which makes it super compelling for me to visit next time.

Cute place and I'm happy they have vegan options for those who are. The stuff I tried which was vegan was good.
I did however order the lemon ricotta pancakes and I didn't like them. I've had lemon pancakes with some cheese in them, and they were not salty or lacking sweet aspects like these were. I felt like I was eating a savory bread rather than a pancake. If salty was the intent, by all means continue. It just wasn't for me. In all honesty, I struggled to finish my food.
