Today, I visited this Peet’s to meet with a client and work online while waiting for my daughter to get out of school. I had been there for quite some time without any issues, on a low-volume conference call, mindful that I was in a public space.
About 45 minutes before I planned to leave, a woman came in and sat next to me. She interrupted my call to ask if I had headphones. I politely said no and continued. She then demanded I move somewhere else, despite the fact she had just arrived and there were plenty of other patrons using their devices without headphones.
She complained to the manager, who confirmed I had been there for a while, was not disruptive, and had not bothered anyone else. When she didn’t get the outcome she wanted, she began playing loud music on her phone. I ignored it at first, but eventually turned my own volume up slightly to block it out.
At that point, she and her companion began antagonizing me, making loud, insulting remarks about my appearance. I am bald due to breast cancer treatment, and they targeted that in their insults. Two unrelated customers overheard, and one even told management the woman’s behavior was inappropriate before leaving.
The harassment escalated to the point where I left early to avoid further confrontation. Management tried to be neutral, but the verbal attacks, especially those mocking my appearance left me humiliated and deeply uncomfortable.
I’ve never experienced anything like this at any Peet’s location. This was not just a disagreement over seating, it became targeted harassment in a space where I should have felt welcome. Unfortunately, because the woman claimed she frequents this location and “always sits in that area,” I will not be returning.

I love peets, but this location is a constant thorn in my side. I think, great, I'll go get a peets coffee, and I forget why I never go to THIS peets' location. Every time I do, they somehow mess up the order. Sometimes it's not so bad, latte instead of mocha for example, I like them both.l, I'm a little disappointed, but not really sad. Sometimes, it is very bad, like a large full caf iced coffee instead of my decaf iced coffee, and I spend the rest of the day with my heart racing from the caffeine.

I ordered a dark roast in lake shore was very light i changed the location to this location i changed the coffee with my cup he charged me $3,60 he suppose to pay a refill price the coffee was super light again lol I bought another double shot expresso to add it to the coffee over 7 $ for dark roast

A coffee chain that I visit regularly, definitely to buy beans to take home. Today I also bought a muffin and it was of high quality, plus a latte. Always friendly staff here. And convenient.

I've never had a bad experience from this Peet's. At times, early morning/breakfast rush there's a big line but their team seems to handle it well.If you haven't, I'd recommend using the mobile app to order ahead of time to avoid the waits in line. Plus if you're Costco members you should get $100 worth of gift cards for $80, I'm just saying.

Never been this part of the Oakland but very nice neighborhood and well matched Peets Coffee. Definitely not a Starbucks location but fits very well with Peets Coffee, unique, bold, cozy and smooth.
