Great neighborhood place with a modern and creative take on Vietnamese flavors. There's something for everyone even the kids. Service is friendly kind and attentive, our server even remembered what we ordered last time! This place makes Montclair a better place to live.

Found the food bland. I couldn't tell you anything distinctive about any dish I tasted. I found the addition of two large screen TVs plus the competing sound of the music being played off putting.

Loved the food, but the overpowering perfume on our server was tough to get past. The giant TVs on the wall. Wall did not promote a very intimate experience either. We will probably go back because the service was good and the food was good, minus the perfume. We did notice a 3% bar fee added to our bill so we just reduced that from our tip. Don't really love being forced to give something.

Several misses. Served something I'm allergic to in a salad after being told it wasn't in there. Apps and main dish delivered before drinks. Had to ask for drinks and call out that they'd been sitting at the bar. Drink was a non-alcoholic one you can have a shot added to. Did not taste any alcohol and was told by manager it must just be weak. Learned also the drink is a batch drink they pour in the kitchen instead of the bar so it would not be surprising if the kitchen forgot the alcohol. Instead of checking I got the must be weak comment. Some of the food was very tasty, but overall experience was very poor. Will not likely return again which makes me sad to have this local re-vamped restaurant so off the mark.

If you are looking for a sports bar ambiance with food that has a Vietnamese flair, this restaurant would be a good choice. We were not looking for such an ambiance, and were surprised at (and didn't realize ahead of time) the three large screens showing a basketball game. The Vietnamese options on the menu are not as numerous as in a typical Vietnamese restaurant, and many have pork or fried foods, which we do not eat; it's surprising that there are no non-fried spring rolls, which seem to a staple of a Vietnamese restaurant. That said, the options that we chose were tasty and good, with the exception of the mango chicken salad, which was a bit light on the chicken and mango. I think there's room for improvement, and I know the management is making efforts to make Perle work.

The food was delicious and it offers a wide drink menu. Service was very good. But the noise level is painful. We asked that that the music be turned down, but even then we could not eat dinner inside the restaurant. We moved to a table outside with heaters, but even there the noise level was extreme because there was a speaker right over our head. We won't go back until we are assured that the noise level is lower.

Excellent food and service, overall pleasant experience. $40 corkage seemed a bit excessive is all. Will return.

Everything was delicious. Duck confit spring rolls were outstanding – so much flavor! The shaking beef salad was excellent – a lot of salad, small portion of beef to go over the top, but very flavorful. The Hanoli pork BBQ plate was the weakest of the dishes but still very good – nuggets of ground pork. Excellent service – three different employees stopped by our table during the meal to check in. A good IPA draft beer and a mocktail – lovely dinner. We will be back for more spring rolls and to sample more dishes on the menu.

Food tasted great. One dish, broken rice platter, was not true to broken rice tradition. We have a pet peeve about three dishes arriving at the same time, especially at this type of restaurant. If you go, order one dish at a time to control the staff

The exquisite menu offers many favorites, and we decided to have a family-style experience by selecting a few dishes to share. Our favorites include the divine beef carpaccio and duck confit egg rolls. The catfish was seasoned well and had a delicate texture. #1 Dac Biet broken rice was a great way to sample some juicy and flavorful meats. Glad that Perle has reopened with a solid menu. We'll be back!

Wonderful upscale Vietnamese food!. Flat screens make it look like a sports bar.... If you're into that.... Great staff.

We were very excited to try out the new Perle Bar and we were not disappointed! The Wagyu beef salad was AMAZING and set the tone for the rest of our meal! So happy that this restaurant is back in action!
