There are two Pho King restaurants within a few blocks of each other and of them, I was pleasantly surprised at just how different their offerings were. Here at the one near Clinton Park, I tried their Pho Dac Biet and BBH. The broth for the pho was light and well-complimented once fully garnished. I found that the further into my bowl I worked, the more complex the flavors became. It has a nice mouth feel with plenty of fatty oils sitting atop the bowl. Very delicious. BBH was really authentic as well, with pork trotter, blood cubes... these items often get missed but are important elements of the dish! Happy they were included here. The portions were generous, and I liked the atmosphere of the restaurant, seemed pretty neighborhood driven and the service was friendly. Definitely will be back.

Have not been pho king for few years because move to another city. Use to be one of the best place for bun bo hue ,but is average now. The tast is not there. And got reaction from the msg for few hours.

My parents go regularly to this restaurant for breakfast, and every time I’ve been available I also go with them. Their pho broth is delicious without anything added, and they give you a healthy side of greens to make the dish even better. My dad religiously gets the bun bo hue and nothing else. The staff are very nice and service quick. Highly recommend!

We have loved this restaurant for over 20 years. The quality and flavor of the food is exceptional. My husband is Vietnamese and we have lived in Vietnam so we know what we're talking about. I love to order Bun Thit Nuong... which is marinated grilled pork over vermicelli rice noodles with fresh herbs and salad. My husband loves their soups. Today he Bun Ba Hue, which is a spicy beef soup from the Hue region of Vietnam with rice noodles.
This restaurant does not have an affiliation with the other one by the same name next to Lake Merritt.
Just had late lunch there with my mother. It was delicious. My had the Pho and I had the veggie soup, both very tasty and fresh. The staff was super friendly and the place was clean. I highly recommend! And we will be back :)

This restaurant moved to 207 E 18th St, Oakland, CA 94606. Google seems to be incapable of removing this address. It shows both the old and the new address in search for "Pho King" results for Oakland. The restaurant is a great low frills Vietnamese restaurant. If you see this review, please add an edit to the 638 International Blvd location asking for that location to be removed. Why do they need to keep a location that says "permanently closed." Just remove it entirely!!
