I was lowkey a bit worried about the post where someone said he was worried about the car break-ins, but it turned out the area has cleaned up a lot and honestly I didn’t feel it was dangerous. But I guess still watch out for car break-ins regardless in Oakland.The chicken pho is the best chicken pho I’ve had in a while. My friend got a seafood pho and it was phenomenal as well. He said it reminded him for Hokkaido seafood ramen, which I consider a high form of compliment.We both really enjoyed our pho. The soups are flavored so well, the chicken pho was better with their house made chili sauce. Kind of surprised that this place is not known to many people still.It’s not a fancy restaurant but it’s the kind of restaurant I like the most - your mom and pop community restaurant that just serves really good food with good price. Most of the people there seemed to be regulars. People were chatting and having fun, which I loved to see. Will come back again soon.

Decent pho. Soup was decent but a little too much MSG for my taste. Came here because some of my friends said they ate at a place called “Pho King”. So I came because of the name so I could tell others I came here. The location was in a shady part of Oakland. I was worried about my car getting broken into while eating my pho.

The broth for both was bland and sweet, pho broth has more spices flavor, the bun bo Hue was just salty and sweet. The restaurant is located in a very ghetto area, but they have good parking in the back since the front street parking was sketchy. Service is decent. They gave you free hot tea. The food was a bit disappointed since this place was known for one of the oldest Vietnamese restaurant in Bay area.

Ordered chicken pho to go. Garnishes were not properly cleaned. Not much meat. Broth was good though. Iced coffee was terrible - couldn’t drink. In Oakland, man Hanoi is much better.

Been coming here since the early 20's. They've remodeled the place but the food and service is still as great as it was 20 years ago. Would recommend any of their rice plates!

The bun rieu and pho are really good. This is the OG pho king compared to the one by lucky supermarket, and the broth here and ingredients here have a lot more flavor and better ingredients (eg spare ribs in the bun rieu). Super friendly owners too. Support them!

It was very good here. We got the bún bò Huế and bún thịt nướng chả giò. Super tasty and the portion was quite large. We ate too quickly and didn’t get a chance to take a picture. Note: come before 4:30pm if you want to dine in. The owner and servers were all very nice! Highly recommended.

The food is not my favorite but it is good. I come for their pho, cold rice vermicelli, and rice plates. It's open for lunch but not dinner as is the case with most of the restaurants in this neighborhood. There are a few parking spots in the parking lot. The neighborhood is fairly safe in the daytime but I wouldn't hang out here when the night arrives.
