WOW! Best chicken sandwich of my life! Incredibly crisp, delicious high quality ingredients and slaw to die for!

Everything was so flavorful! I had the chicken sandwich and mashed potato balls. As full as I was because of how big that sandwich was I had to finish it because it was so good lol The staff was also really friendly. It feels nice supporting a local business when it's ran by good people.

Been needing to try this place out for a while and boy did the Pimpin Chkn team not disappoint! There is a certain kind of magic to the breading used with the chicken - Something I couldn't explain! Word of advice is to order early in the day - The chicken disappears fast, we only got a chance to try the sandwich and tenders but you better believe we'll be back earlier for a whole bucket.

Date: 12/10/2021 Time: 4:20 PM 56° Sunny Based on a five star rating by my fellow yelper, Victor G, my husband and I decided to check out Pimpin' Chkn. Yes, I rely heavily on his reviews; he's the man with "gazillion" reviews. Searching for Pimpin' Chkn was an adventure for us. We arrived at one location (1430 - 23rd Avenue, Oakland), only to see there was nobody there. Okay, the only thing I could do was called and find out their location. Response: 5701 E. 14th Street, Suite 12, Oakland. I can't seem to call it International Blvd. For an OG like myself who grew up in "the town", I am sticking with E. 14th Street. Another thing, I did not live too far (52nd Avenue near Bancroft Ave) from this location. The location of Pimpin' Chkn is at the old Quaker Oats building. Gaining entry is a little complicated. One has to go around the corner (58th Avenue) to the gate, which will automatically slide open, leading to a parking lot. We parked in the first lot, which was a mistake. There is a second lot beyond the gate. A nice couple let us in to the secured building. We had to walk down this long corridor to find suite 12. Truly amazing that they converted this building to suites and apartments. The gentleman assisting us was personable and very friendly. Looking at the menu on this website, we decided on a whole fried chicken. Unfortunately, that item was not available. Thus, we settled for the three piece chicken wings, which included coleslaw. Another item we ordered was the deep fried pickle. Suite 12 is dimly lit. The atmosphere is more like a lounge setting. Beautiful paintings are mounted on the wall. Open space has two comfy couches and a round coffee table. Bar area has plenty bottles of alcohol and wine. In front of the big picture window are two counter height pub tables and four bar stools. According to my husband, the fried chicken wings were absolutely frickin' delish - crispy batter, well seasoned and moist. The wings were not small. I call them wings on steroids. We have never had deep fried pickles. I didn't know there was such a thing. I google searched and I learned it is a popular snack in the Southern states. They were so good that I want more of them pickles. Ooh, they can be addicting. Now that my husband and I know how to get to Pimpin' Chkn, there will be future visits for the fried chicken wings and deep fried pickles. I also hope in the future they will add more items to the menu. Thanks to Victor for his review, as I would not have known about Pimpin' Chkn. "It's a winner, winner, chicken dinner!" LOL.

Like gramma used to make! Perfectly tender on the inside, perfectly seasoned and crispy on the outside. Falls apart and melts in your mouth. We had the chicken tenders combo with kale salad. The kale salad was not what you might think, just try it. Hands down, my new favorite fried chicken and kale salad. Beautiful presentation and you can tell the team is very meticulous and proud of making excellent food. Thank you!!

I'm slightly perplexed at how incredible this chicken is...when I had my first bite I almost passed away LOL it's the best fried chicken I've ever had in my life! This is exactly what Oakland needed!! Where's the crown cuz this is king !!! Crispy juicy tender perfectly spiced quality and affordable As I ordered this woman came up to me and said she already had some earlier in the day but had to come back for more, it's that good!! I can't wait to come back If y'all start bottling that hot sauce I will be the first in line. And what was that garlic sauce too?? So delicious. I want to drink the leftover sauces lmao Only downside is it can be hard to obtain since they sell out but now I can see why. Do not sleep on pimpin chkn !!!!!

I’ve been waiting to try pimpin chicken for a while. I’m always working or something is coming up. I hit up their spot at the Oakland Farmers Market today. I got the three piece chicken tenders with slaw and the mash balls.Best fried chicken I’ve had since moving to the Bay Area a few months ago. Crispy ???. Tender ???. Seasoned ???. Sauce ? ??. Sides ???.That’s the best way I’ve got to do a *chefs kiss* emoji.Do not miss it. They are in a cool loft location on Friday nights. Where they do drinks etc. The food is perfection And they say the vibe is good. Add them on Instagram. Oakland/Bay Area local business.Don’t miss it!

There is a reason there are only 5 star reviews so far (except that one dude, I'd be upset if I couldn't get this chicken too) . 5 stars for the chicken of course, perfectly brined and cooked to perfection. The slaw was dang near perfect. Tangy and just enough to add to the chicken without any take away or getting lost. Then the bun. At first glance I was wary. Not the beautiful brioche I have been conditioned to expect. No, this thing was a function first vessel of amazing. Then the service. You can't give less than 5 stars for a team that will stand over a fryer in the sun and smile and laugh along with you. Eli rocked the sandwich, but Rahim (spelling?) kept the fun going while I waited. (Happily, fresh chicken and a good convo is worth a wait) Yeah, Will. Drop the bitterness, fill up the tank and keep the search up, it is worth it!

At this very moment, I am finishing the last bite of one of your chicken sandwiches, with a side of fried mashed potato balls, that I picked up at the Grand Lake farmers market. I can honestly say that this is the best damn fried chicken sandwich I have had in my life. I will make sure to hit y'all up next time I come to the market. Holy cow, that was an awesome sandwich!

I absolutely love fried chicken and this was the BEST CHICKEN SANDWICH I've ever had. Chef Eli is a culinary genius! I ordered takeout but I stuck around to eat and enjoy the Fry-Day Lounge. There was an awesome DJ, great vibes, and wonderful people. It was the grand opening, but the Fry-Day Lounge (on Fridays) will be a regular thing. I will definitely be back soon and I'm bringing everyone I know!
