Love the self service Buffet style setting. So many vegan options. You get to select your spice level and choose if you want soup or stirfry.

Great food and vegan friendly by default (no egg and dairy, yes peanut sauce though if you're allergic) for both soup and stir fry sauce.
Tons of tofu options (fried tofu, tofu sheets, tofu curds, soft porous tofu for soup bases)

In my life, I've never left more than half of my food because it wasn't tasty, but this is my first time at this place. I think there was something wrong with cooking the Mara Xianggu, but while the food that came out was too sweet and had too much red pepper powder, it didn't taste spicy at all. There were also uncooked ingredients. It tasted completely different from the Mara Xianggu I had in Korea or the Mara Xianggu I had at other restaurants in the United States. It even tasted different from the xiangguo I had eaten here before. I mentioned this to the server, but I did not hear anything from the owner or the cook. The restaurant was clean and I waited for the food expecting it to be delicious, but I was really disappointed.

Where else can you watch Mukbang and K-pop videos while getting that facehurt soup? Have good strategy and take less wet carbs toppings to get affordable, balanced soup that can be eaten in one sitting. Price is $3.79 per 3.5oz so about $17/lb. My favorite topping is the Korean pasta (sujebi).
If you’re not sure about the spice level, they can bring mala and chili crisp oil to your table as a side.
Onion pancake side is also great.
Dietary restrictions: Broth is peanut based

One of my co-workers recommended this place, so we went for lunch. It was attractive that I could choose the ingredients and the amount I wanted to eat. Oh, and one more thing: You can also select the spiciness. There is also a non-spicy level, making it perfect for families with children. The sweetness of Tanghulu that comes after the spicy taste is another pleasure. I tried grape and strawberry Tanghulu. I love the food here and highly recommend it. I'm not sure about dinner time, but you don't have to worry about parking during lunchtime. You can use the parking lot behind the building.

Super kind and attentive staff, tons of options, private parking lot in the back of the restaurant, complimentary mouthwash in the restroom, — and don’t forget the delicious candy sugar coated fresh fruits - Tanghulu! We love the strawberry, grape, and cherry Tanghulu and always make sure to make a stop here when we’re in the Bay Area! Thank you all for your hard work, attention to detail, and kind service! We can’t wait to be back!

stopped by randomly and i really enjoyed the options available here for us to pick and add to our bowl. something i really appreciate is the "cafeteria" style which allows us to pick and choose what we want and how much to fit our appetite. their protein options are a bit limited from a similar restaurant but i still really like what they've offered. i like how there's also an option of the level of spice with soups/stir fry options. as a hugeeee spice lover this really was up my ally. their service was quick and professional, and the restaurant's overall flow didn't require us to interact with the staff, so my observations are limited.
tips:
- fairly priced and is based on the weight of what you put in the bowl
- if you enjoy noodles or rice cakes - there's a lot of variety in this
- family/kid friendly
- perfect for friends and dates
- a lot of street parking/limited parking lot options

This is Korean style Mala Hong Tang restaurant. You can order soup base and choose vegetables and other ingredients from the self service bar. We had Mala Xiang Guo with beef and Mala Hong Tang with beef and I tried both of them. I really liked Mala Hong Tang. The soup base is great and delicious. We tried hot spicy levels but it’s not spicy enough for me. I’ll try extra hot next time. Anyway It’s good place to enjoy Korean style spicy Mala Tang.

This restaurant has a parking lot that is right next to Jack In The Box and easy to miss. They have a small menu for you to choose food from, or you can take a large metal bowl and put items in it that you want stir-fried or made into a soup. They charge by the weight and by the beef or lamb meat that you want added. It also comes with a small bowl of white rice that is of no extra charge. The bathroom is nice and clean and so was the rest of the restaurant.

I was craving malatang recently but I've never tried the Korean version of it. Due to cravings, and this place being highly rated near me, I was really expecting some numbing of sichuan peppercorns but there was none. Thus, it shouldn't be called "MAlatang" there's no ma(numbing), just la (spice). Nonetheless, the soup base of the malatang was delicious regardless. There was a variety of vegetable choices, very little meat choices - there is an option to add beef or lamb.
As for the tanghulu, it was my first time trying tanghulu, the fruits were fresh and delicious. I suppose this is perfect for someone who loves sweets. The sugar coated on it was a perfect amount.
Be careful of the amount of ingredients you pick, the less you pick the easier to finish.
