Must say, my expectations were so wildly exceeded last time I came in, I had to post an unsolicited review. This was Jan 15 around mid afternoon. The food here has always been great, so no surprise that it was great today. But the service was really stellar. For a fast casual joint, you don't expect them to come by with a pepper mill for the salad or clear the plates as you go, but that is exactly what happened! The whole staff was pretty cheery and helpful. Not sure if they thought I was from corporate or this is just the level they deliver, but it really deserved a Highlight.

They charged me for a large salad and gave me a small one. The cashier ripped off and kept the receipt. Be careful and check your food before you leave the store. Otherwise you might get ripped off too.

This is a great restaurant. Quite a gem they got in Oakland. Everything was top tier. Service and food. The fried chicken breakfast sandwich was amazing, the runny egg and toasted bun went together perfectly. A unique and delicious twist on some of your favorite foods. I wish I had two stomachs for food this good haha one of those spots you gotta try the whole menu!

I was so looking forward to trying this place. Wife and I wanted to try different items to get an idea of the menu so we ordered enough to have left overs the next day. Here's what we got:
Flipped Entree and did the potato wedges instead of the salad - The half breast was tiny. I thought they forgot a piece of chicken when I first opened the box. It looked like they put a bunch of potato wedges in the box to mask the tininess of the chicken. Chicken wasn't anything special and the breast was dry. The sauce that came with it was amazing! Wedges were very good too compared to all the other food.
Fried Chicken Sandwich with fries instead of chips - the fries were cold and soggy. Everything else was to proper temperature so they just gave us old fries. The chicken sandwich wasn't anything special. The chicken itself was very thin and I wasn't a fan of the bun at all. The coleslaw on it was good though. It just seemed cheap considering the bun and the cut of chicken they used. Definitely didn't justify the price or a return trip.
Chicken Strips - this is the highlight of the meal. They were delicious and great size too. Kinda skinny but long and the chicken was delicious inside and the coating was awesome! The sauce was perfect too!
Bone Broth - my wife actually liked this a lot. I thought it was above average. The portion size for the price was small but it was rich and had good flavor. Wife would get this again.
Biscuits - One came with the entree and we got another one. The flavor was good. The texture was average. The size was tiny. It's more of a cornbread really but flavor is nice.
I won't come back here unless I was in the area and then just the chicken strips with a biscuit and a bone broth for the wife. It really is overpriced for the quality of food.
The person taking our order was awesome and had great customer service. The decor of the place is very nice too. I was excited based on how this restaurant looked and the menu. I wanted to try the wings but the reviews were bad for them so stuck to the items on the menu that had good reviews and was very disappointed.
I would say other than the chicken strips, just skip this place. If you've had good chicken before, you will be very disappointed.

Found this place while looking for gluten-free options on our drive home from the Bay — so glad we stopped! They’re one of the few spots I’ve ever seen with gluten-free chicken strips, and they were so damn good. Perfectly cooked with flavorful, crispy breading. The house sauce was one of the best I’ve ever had — just the right spice — and paired perfectly with the fries and gluten-free onion rings (another first!). Such a great find — 10/10 recommend!

I was running errands on Lakeshore and wanted to grab a quick bite that's healthy and delicious, and found this great spot. It's a simple menu-- you either pick sandwich, kale/mixed greens salad, or entree, and then either fried chicken, grilled chicken, or faux (vegetarian) chicken. They accommodated my dairy allergy no problem and it was fast, easy, and delicious

Food is good. I’m old school, my first glance at the chicken stopped me in my tracks thinking about the other dishes I bought too. I mean the chicken was not plucked!.I took a pic😳. I thought about the chicken salad then, did they wash the lettuce? I don’t know if I’ll be back, that threw me. We grew up cleaning the chicken, plucking the chicken and making sure no hairs, or tendons were seen; shows me these are young people not taught cleanliness.

Proposition Chicken on Lakeshore.. I never knew this place was here! I came to Oaktown to see the Kilbert O'Splatterhouser - Buster Keaton 10 round bout at the Avenues Gym & Ring and thought I'd get a light snack before going in, and what luck, Proposition Chicken is right there! About a dozen wings and some hot sauce are all I needed to make the day perfect! 5 stars all day long. ☆☆☆☆☆
