The waiter recognized me when I arrived, and was friendly & welcoming. He was accommodating when we asked if we could sit outside instead of the bar. He spoke Spanish. The cuisine was tasty and elegantly plated. Light, fresh and flavorful. We ate the blue-fin tuna in plum sauce special & fish ceviche. Also ordered the quinoa & beet salad with citrus--quite tangy. We enjoyed every bite & finished dinner with an espresso. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our evening so much! Excellent service, delicious cebiche, sangria, and entrees. Kevin celebrated our daughter's birthday with a bubbly Pinot Gris (Spain) and delicious dulce de leche and sweet potato (beignet-like) donuts!! We will be back, thank you Team Pucquio!!

We loved the fresh fish, spice and creativity. The service was fantastic, and recommendations for both food and wine were perfect for the evening.

Excellent dinner! The grilled octopus is hands down the best I have had! It was so tender and flavorful! I had the seafood dish that had the rice with the squid ink. It was super delicious! For dessert we had the rice pudding with grilled pineapple with was great! Presentation of the food was great! Service was excellent! Can't wait to go back!

It was a great experience at Pucquio: the food was incredible, the service was perfect, and the ambience was perfect for catching up with my friend. Kevin made good recommendations (the trout ceviche was amazing). I look forward to coming back and trying more of the menu.

As always terrific food, but Pucquio is not the place ic you are in a hurry. Chef Carlos takes his time! But it is well worth the wait, giving you time to relax and enjoy and catch up!

What a delight and just delicious. Clean, clear, contemporary and creative Peruvian flavors beautifully presented. Gracious and charming hospitality, with a server who knew his craft and brimmed with pride over the food he plated and delivered. Outdoor parklet heated just right; dividers offered airy privacy. So looking forward to returning soon. Indeed a best of Oakland 2025.

We had an absolutely outstanding dining experience! Every dish we tried was thoughtfully prepared and packed with flavor. We started with the ceviche and grilled octopus—both were fresh, vibrant, and beautifully presented. The ceviche had just the right balance of citrus and spice, while the octopus was tender with a perfect char. The Chicharrone was rich, and deliciously satisfying . The braised pork shoulder was incredibly tender and full of deep, comforting flavors. The seafood paella was generous, well-seasoned, and full of perfectly cooked seafood—it really brought everything together. We paired the meal with a lovely Can Franc wine that complemented the dishes wonderfully. The service was equally impressive. Kevin was personable, knowledgeable, and attentive throughout the evening. He made excellent recommendations and ensured we felt well taken care of from start to finish. This was a memorable meal in every way—we'll definitely be back.

1st time and was not disappointed. Small venue so reservations recommended. Beef tips, pork and seafood were great as was the ceviche appetizers. Our service Kevin was very helpful with menu suggestions and wine recommendation.

The food was hands down the best Peruvian food I've ever had. Everything was spectacular (the drinks too!) and the owner is lovely. The only negative thing is that it took 2 hours (technically, slightly over 2 hours) to receive our entrees. We were also never asked if we wanted more drinks (we had to wave ppl over to ask for more). If the service were better (faster, more attentive), this would be my favorite restaurant. It was also slightly expensive for the portion of meat provided (~$35-40 per entree).

PROs: Loved the innovative combination of ingredients. The dishes were well-prepared and presented, and the service was attentive. CONs: While tasty, the two mains we ordered (lombo saltado and arroz con mariscos) were over-salted for our tastebuds (and I love salty food).

The problem for me is that I set my expectations way too high. The yuka fries did not come out hot, but the dipping sauce was exceptionally good. I ordered two entrées, the pork shoulder, and the beef dish. The pork shoulder was OK, but nothing special. The beef dish was so overly salted. I should've sent it back, but I took it home instead of figuring I could resurrect it. I just feel for the price that I paid that it was overpriced and under delivered.
