Love these guys and what they're doing. The chef is very hands-on, even doing the shopping at numerous places every week, including his local farmer's market. Sit at the bar if you can (only four stools, sadly) and watch the kitchen in action. And when it comes to the small but well-curated wine list, put yourself in the hands of the staff, who are passionate about the pairings. Our waiter is a former chef who now works front of house - we think it's because he had too much personality to keep him in the back of house!
This was our second time at Pucquio. We tried different dishes because everything was so good the first visit. We started with plantains and Tiradito cebiche. My husband ordered the pork shoulder while I ordered the tacu tacu, a delicious seafood medley with rice and beans. For dessert, we got the rice pudding brulee. We recommend letting them choose the wine for each dish. They also make excellent cocktails.
It's a great Peruvian restaurant located off Broadway in Oakland nicer area. Carlos and Kevin are super hospitable, warm and efficient. The gourmet food is super tasty. The lomo saltado is amazing!!! The sangria was delicious. I will comeback soon! For your birthday they give you sparkling wine. Amazing experience! Mariano Valdivia
Great people work here. They all care about the food and the customer experience and every curious food lover will find many somethings to love here. Is bigamy bad when it comes to food? I say no.
As a Peruvian, this restaurant is hands down my favorite Peruvian place in the Bay Area. The drinks, dishes and appetizers are all authentic and prepared expertly. Highly, highly recommended
Poor quality service very rude waiter couldn’t accommodate a table for us when so many were available, mind you we drove from far away we’ve been to many restaurants and it has been years since we’ve met someone so rude! Wouldn’t recommend anyone this restaurant

Buzzing with soul, heart and passion --- Carlos and his crew are simply amazing. Not too stuffy --- it strikes a balance that is all around nourishing. I can't recommend Pucquio enough. Do you your family or your partner a favor and spend an evening here.

Cozy peruvian restaurant with an excellent menu. For starters we got the Ceviche de Pescado, the Chicharron, and the Causa Negra - all were excellent. For mains we got the Arroz con Mariscos, the Lomo Saltado, and the Adobo de Chancho - and that is in order of our preference. The only issue was that the last two mains were a little over salted and hence the four stars. The service was excellent.

Our family of three shared as much of the menu as we could sample. All of it was excellent. We recommend trying at least one of the cebiches (we had Mosiaico Cebichero), one of the fries (we had salchipapas) a salad (we had quinoa), and some main dishes (we had both aji de gallinna and lomo saltado). Also, don’t forget the sangria. We shared the dessert, too. (We had bombitas). We can’t wait to go back again. Very kind service, too.

I finally made it to this place and it did not disappoint. From the moment I entered, I felt I was transported to my mom’s kitchen. The aromas hit you, the warmth reception from staff gets you. And the food? (The best part for last!) was superb. High quality Peruvian faire with a home cooked feeling and a modern take. Silly me for not been here before. I will come back with the whole Fam for sure. A comeeeer!!! And Chimpum Callao!!!

What a lovely scene with friendly service. Intimidate setting. Easy to find but tough parking. I recommend sitting at the counter because you can get a full view of meal prep. Lomo Saltado was a classic and meat was seared to perfection. Fish Ceviche was fresh. Dessert was kind of like a donut with a sweet potato filling and cream dip. I didn't drink the wine but the server sounded knowledgeable about the selection. Great date spot.

This is by far the best Peruvian cuisine experience outside South America I have ever had! I love Peruvian so I always try their restaurants.
I was seating in front of the food preparation area and I was very impressed, I want to come back and try it all.
This was an excellent gastronomic experience 💪

Very disappointing dinner for first time in over 15 visits! Nothing was served for over 75-80 minutes. Food was not hot when brought. Server was saying they were understaffed. Will likely not visit again before testing other Peruvian restaurants in Berkeley or Oakland.
