I ordered in October 2023. Since then, I have called 4 times and have written 3 emails. Now it's April 2024, I still couldn't get any response. Never received my order or any order update. I understand that they were going through some difficulties last year. Not sure if this business is still in operation.

Their coffee used to be great. But it would seem they are out of business without taking down the shop. Ordered coffee a month and a half ago and never received anything. Contacted the company through every contact possible (email, phone, social media, PayPal) with no response. Currently awaiting PayPal to refund the dispute. This is highly irresponsible behavior for a company to leave a shop up, collect money and no longer operate a viable business. I will attempt to let coffee review know so people don’t read their review and try to order.

A hidden gem along the 18 bus route, this is the perfect spot to grab a morning coffee on the way to the BART. Their salted vanilla vegan donuts are slammin'-crisp on the outside, soft in the middle. Love that their coffees are so well-balanced they can be enjoyed without cream or sugar, but if you like things on the sweeter side the Uncle Iroh is worth a try-it's like a coffee milkshake had a baby with an Italian soda!

Love Rhetoric Coffee. Favorite espresso pulls in the East Bay + the open space of Arthur Macs to sit and enjoy in is a luxury. And they have kachapuri!
Rhetoric Coffee has delicious and strong brews! Had them during the morning shift at Arthur Mac's. Also made me and my crew feel safe from the jump, their staff is the most inclusive and understanding.

The best. Wonderful humans selling excellent coffee beans and the best drip+pulled coffee drinks in north Oakland. So lucky to have them in the neighborhood!The breakfast snacks - khachapuri (an egg+cheese bread from the Caucuses), fried-to-order donuts, hash browns - are all excellent too.There's lots of patio seating, which makes it a nice place to hang on a warm morning.Heads up: they're located inside Arthur Mac's as a sort of pop up, and just operate in the mornings before Arthur Mac's opens. Not an all day affair.

We are so spoiled by Rhetoric's premium coffee, freshly roasted, delivered to our mailbox, other beans just don't quite satisfy now. I normally don't write reviews but the coffee was an unexpected delight. My experience with the place had always been with Arthur Mac, killer outdoor space with delicious, pizza, wings, and beer. That was before I wandered in with a friend one morning and met the roaster. The rockstar recommend a bag of whole bean Single Origin Brazil Fazenda that has been the highlight of my mornings lately. I plan to be back to reup soon and if you care about your taste buds, or wanna take a break from the Peets/ Starbucks routine, I highly recommend this place. Thanks James!
