Stopped by Romo Cafe in Hayward on a Sunday around 10am no line and quick service. The back patio had a few parties, light music, and a relaxed vibe, plus it’s dog-friendly. One croissant sandwich and two café de olla for about $20. Great spot for a calm morning.

Small cozy place. The ladies were very attentive and the patio nice. Café de la olla delicious.
I just went in to order a latte to go and they gave me a mini serving of chia pudding (made with coconut milk) topped with homemade granola, berries and honey. So amazing! Don’t let the street view fool you, this place is lovely in every way inside.

The crêpes weren’t tasty and didn’t seem freshly made. I ordered a large cappuccino, but they gave me a latte instead. When I pointed this out to the lady at the counter, she told me that “large means more milk” and that both medium and large have the same two shots of coffee. Basically, ordering a large just waters it down. She refused to remake the drink, which was disappointing.

Unsanitary food preparation, hair in the food, no apologies and no refund.
I ordered 3 crepes, and one of them had a hair baked right into the batter. They refused to refund me for that crepe, explaining that my 5-year-old son had already eaten half of it. I did not expect such an outcome — it’s just a nightmare. I do not recommend this place.

It was busy and the service was chaotic. They had no system. Took over an hour to get our food.
A hidden gem. This cafe offers delicious food and coffee and a comfortable patio. Customer service is great 👍

Atmosphere was very nice in the back patio.
Unfortunately the wait for the food made it a very bad experience. The staff was nice, but overworked and disorganized so wait time was too long.
The western breakfast came out after 30 min, taste was ok. Mexican dishes arrived after more than an hour!! And this was after asking about it multiple times. We ended up canceling the final dish because it was taking an hour and a half to arrive, and they offered a refund which I appreciate. I wish it was a bit more organized because we all were getting hangry and I felt bad for the staff running all around.

Food was just ok. menus showing prices of basically plain food and after adding a couple of extras it becomes more expensive than any other known restaurant so you pay more than you would of payed at Black Bear or Dennys for better food.

Expresso and tea get a low score. The breakfast sandwich on the other hand was delicious!

I love the fact that a new place opened up to spruce up the neighborhood.
I love the ambience and the San Francisco vibe of the backyard seating.
I love the ethnic look and feel and all the different and beautiful fares that adorn the walls.
But the food leaves a lot to be desired. None of the sandwiches and salad had any flavor and I am not paying $7 for small orange juice even if came from the Mayan mountains.
I asked for their Mexican food offerings and was told it would take at least 30 minutes. Really? I hope you guys address this and the next time I visit this place in the flatlands it becomes my favorite go to place to eat Mexican food and have coffee.
