Came to Temescal and met up with a couple of folks on my work project. We ordered some drinks and a platter of snacks. I loved the conserva and the vermouth spritz was fantastic! Would totally come here again if I'm in the neighborhood.

Good beers, okay food. Huge variety of beer options, and the 4 beers + a sandwich option was really perfect for what we wanted. The sandwich itself was okay, not great, but some of the beers were really stand out. Overall a nice spot, I wouldn't expect to have your mind blown but a nice vibe for sure!

Ambience is nice, high ceiling, soft warm lights, and decor leaves for a really relaxing time. The drinks were wonderful, got plenty of those. The minus one star comes just for our eggplant sando. The fig jam, feta, and arugula were great on the baguette. The downside is that the ratio for bread to eggplant which was was sad (a lot of bread, and a sliver of eggplant). Forgot that this was an eggplant sando....

Came here to meet up a friend for a lil catch up sesh. This place has an outdoor patio section but plenty of seats indoors as well. I got a pilsner pilsner cuz I'm soft. This place is dog friendly, human friendly as well =)

I was back in town visiting so I grabbed some drinks with a friend. Now that I’m older, hangovers are horrible even with a sip of beer so I made sure to take my OHCap pills before drinking to avoid one. They offer a variety of beers here ranging from porters to sour. They’re either tapped from a keg or it comes in a cool, colorful can. Outdoor seating is available with heat lamps in case it gets cold (which it did lol). We ended up moving inside anyways. Not a whole lot of seating but it was enough space for the three of us amigos to chill in the back.Bonus! They also offer small bites so we ordered a combo-type plate. Basically a charcuterie board with cured meats, cheeses, and spread. We ended up drinking a few more beers than we thought but thankfully I brought the OHCap with me. I’ll skip the hangover, thanks. I’d come here again in a heartbeat next time I’m around.

Been here a couple of times and both times the servers were less than kind. First time we came in just before closing and they made it clear they were not happy we came in for a glass of wine. Second time I sat at the bar with a friend visiting from out of town. We split a flight so maybe that's not ok? We were waiting for our dinner reservation and didn't have much time, wanted to taste a bunch of things and on top of that it took 30 min to get our flight. 2 in the flight were the same beer. How is that acceptable when we are sitting at the bar facing the taps and not a single bartender has time to fill? Took 15 min to get a bartender to bring the check. Took another 10 min for them to swipe my card. I think if you have certain expectations on when you will be serving, how you want customers to act that is within in reason go ahead and let them know but the passive aggressiveness when we aren't mind reading how the servers feel is a hard pass for me.

I can understand why regulars enjoy this spot. But I walked in and found service to be not rude, exactly, but…not warm. Wine list expensive and esoteric; I get that it’s a taproom but then, don’t bother having a wine list. Sandwich imaginative but not very tasty. Bread was so crusty I couldn’t chew it. So don’t worry Ed (see comment above), an old white woman got the same treatment you did.

This was at least my fifth trip here and we arrived a few minutes before they opened they graciously served as cold beer before the official opening thank goodness as it was a very warm day for Oakland anyway the service was great and I love the selection of beers hard to decide which too I'm going to have at every visit looking forward to trying something new next time

What's not to love about this hipster/artsy watering hole w/ a petite albeit good snack menu?! With indoor and outdoor seating, this dog friendly place allows your canine friend to join you in either setting. (Thanks guys!!) -- the craft beer, wine, and aperitif selection is impressive too. Lovely space to spend a sunny (or rainy!) day in w/ a friend or book for that matter, while enjoying all the great treats the menu has to offer. Cheers

I used to love this place but now the service is not what it used to be. Rude bar tenders that ignore you until you say excuse me. I almost walked out the other day. One of your bar tenders says what do u want. I ordered my beer and later over heard the same bartender talk to someone really nice. And I'm Mexican, the person she was nice to is white. I'm not saying the bartender is racist but they definitely were giving 2 different experiences based on something.

Unfortunately the staff are never too friendly here, in my experience. They do have a nice simple menu and always seem to have decent beers available.
