To start, my partner and I came here for a nice Valentine's day's dinner. To our surprise, they were not offering the typical menu and instead offered a limited $65 per person menu with few options. The " Valentine's Menu" included a glass of champagne, a rose, an appetizer, main course, and dessert. We were not given champagne nor a rose. Understandably, the kitchen was backed up so our appetizers took a while to come. However, a separate party that arrived after us received their food before us. Our food arrived, I ordered the dumplings that were slightly overcooked. My partner's choice was cooked well. After finishing the appetizers we decided to just ask for our champagne, not only did they not give us the champagne to begin with they took almost 15 minutes to give us our glasses ( at this point the rush was gone). We received our food and my partner ordered the lamb shank and it tasted great, I ordered the beef kebab and the beef was great but the rice was dry as heck and the veggies were bland as hell. At this point we had been there for 1.5 hours where our reservation was at 7:30. Our waitress never asked how our food was... shocker. We'd had enough and took our dessert to go. To make a long story short, definitely skip this place on your next date night there's far better places to go that cost significantly less. Will not be back!!
The four was excellent. We had Mixed Appetizers, Traditional Qurma, and Eggplant Qurma. All were delicious. Very busy night but well worth the wait. Lovely staff. We will be back!
Everything was very good. Some dishes were better than others, but that's just a preference thing.
Really great food and service! Excellent portions and flavors. Options for vegetarians were so tasty!
The service was wonderful as was the food. We chose to sit outside and they accommodated us well with heating lamps. The owner was quite gracious and checked in with us to make sure we were having a pleasant dining experience. This is on our list of restaurants that offer outdoor dining and tasty food!
Lovely food and service! Great ambiance and drinks. Good for larger parties. Can't wait to eat on the cute patio when the weather is warmer.
Pleasant atmosphere and low noise in the 2nd dining room with soothing guitar music piped in. The lamb shank was tasty and tender. The food came quickly and the service was friendly. Recommend!
Gracious & very accommodating service. Flavors were varied & delightful. Wish sounded level could be lower.place was full, & people were having fun.
I visited for lunch on Christmas Eve, and it was quiet (which was fine to me). I had the mixed kabob platter and tried some of the lamb shank and beef qurma. The food was very good, and service and atmosphere were just fine. If you like Afghan cuisine and are in the area, consider having a meal here. The lunch menu prices are good values considering Saffron Kitchen has tablecloth covered tables and wait service.
An excellent Afghan/Middle Eastern restaurant. Food was well prepared and flavorful. Menu emphasizes Afghan dishes and includes a good selection of vegetarian dishes. Service was wonderful, timely and friendly. I will definitely return. Suggest you make a reservation. It was busy on a Sunday evening.

A rare find! White tablecloths and candlelight! Attentive but not intrusive service. Interesting but not pretentious menu! And on a stretch of College Avenue where everywhere else seems to be pizza and burgers. Saffron makes for a lovely dining experience.
Food was delicious! Server was friendly and attentive. Please note that our server could be very attentive to us because the restaurant was not busy. Only one other table was seated, besides our party of 7. I would dine here again!
Great Food! Something for everyone! Vegetarian or not. Hubby had filet mignon kabob with rice and veggies—all perfectly prepared. I had mantu—a special dumpling I've eaten other places but here it was double delicious and presented beautifully. Fresh baked bread and sauces for dipping, good wines, all in all, a wonderful experience in the main dining room. I wish I had room for some of the great sounding desserts but we were both full-up after dinner was consumed and we'd licked our plates clean. (Ok, not really on the plate-licking.)
Such a wonderful location, and the food was absolutely delicious. 😋🍽️ I will be back. 👍

The food and service were fine but the restaurant is too noisy for me and I could barely hear the person across from me at a table for 4
