Like other reviewers, we found this place unexpectedly - after an Oakland A’s baseball game, in our case. What a gem. The owner/chef is delightful, offering all standard Mexican options with no set menu. The food was fantastic. My husband’s shrimp burrito was chock full of shrimp. I’m vegan and had 2 (large!) yummy pinto bean tacos. A little Spanish will go a long way, though the owner understood most of what we said. Our meals averaged $12/person. I highly recommend and will come here again when in the area.

We came here on Wednesday with my son, friend, and cousin. We walked in and no one else was there but the guy cooking and someone he was talking to. The employee/owner was super nice but didn't really speak English which is fine since I speak Spanish. He also said he didn't have menus so we just threw out what we wanted. 2 chicken tacos, a chicken quesadilla, Carne asada nachos, 2 chicken tacos no onion. We sat down and chatted and the food came out fairly quick, you could see everything he was doing from the table. The food was delicious and the nachos were perfectly layered. The quesadilla was massive. Apparently the tacos were also good. When my son asked for a box to go, the guy gave several extra dollops of sour cream for later.I specifically looked for a Mexican restaurant in a more questionable area because I know that's where you find quality authentic Mexican food and it didn't disappoint. Definitely hard to find parking off such a busy street especially since the entire residential area is packed with cars.Oh and I just remembered that he gave us a free Carne asada taco randomly while we were eating so extra props to that guy.
