Such an amazing experience. The service was impeccable and the food was so delicious. I love that the menu is labeled with what can be made gluten free or vegetarian which I always appreciate since I am gluten free. Loved it and I will be back!

The food was so tasty. Really looking forward to my next visit. It's an elevated diner. I have a soft spot for diners and this one was just fantastic. Modern and updated and amazing food and beverages.
We had the shakshuka and the fig toast. Both were amazing. And I had a chai latte. A little on the sweet side, but very spicy and tasty.

I walked in with my sister who came from San Jose happily and excited about having brunch here only to stand in front of the “wait to be seated “ sign . No one greeted us (it was not busy at all) , no one even acknowledged that went in to spend money at this place . Looks like you are very happy with all or the new consumers in the Laurel. I used to live in Oakland way back when these neighborhoods were a bit different . Looks like you don’t need us anymore .

Just a “mid” experience all around. The taste of the food was just fine.
Mandatory 20% tip automatically charged. Small portions. Not the most attentive service. Had to ask for silverware, had to keep asking for refills of water and coffee. Sourdough “toast” was barely toasted (see pic), not even a little bit of browning.
$57 total for 2 people, with those portion sizes, not worth it.
Also the place was so packed with tables that I had to literally wait for the next customers to physically walk into the place before I can walk out myself as I was leaving. Waiting for 5 people to walk by you while you’re waiting and hovering over other tables, just felt awkward.

The food was healthy, beautiful and delicious! Our kids ate every crumb off their plates. The Tumeric Tonic and Fish and Grits was one of the best meals I've ever eaten!

Coming from NY I think of diners as being dreary places with bland food. Sequoia Diner was the opposite! The food was fresh, healthy, imaginative and flavorful. What a treat! I highly recommend it.

This is the best breakfast place in this neighborhood and worth a trip to what looks like a struggling area. Try to avoid a long wait by calling ahead to see what the wait time is. Its great if you can sit down in less than 20 minutes. But easy to get a coffee or ice tea if you have to wait.

Super rude hostess. Left before we could be sat, so off-putting.

Cute place. Waited 15 min for a table. Ordered 2 sides and a chopped salad. Other customers came in, ordered, ate, paid and left....waited. Waited some more. Several customers who had arrived after us who ordered way more stuff, were served, ate paid and left. We finally got our drinks. Ended up walking out.
Sad to say I don't think it's worth the wait. I went on a day when there was no wait and I can't imagine waiting 30+ minutes for food this mediocre. We tried several things and it was all just...fine. Not really worth the price, but tasty enough. The portions are also pretty small, and while the atmosphere is fun, the service was inattentive even when a few booths and tables were open (not packed inside). We both had "bottomless coffee" but didn't get refills until we were done eating. I would have liked a refill when we got our food to have hot coffee with the meal.

Food is as good as ever, and maybe it's because the tip is always included some of the servers seem to be phoning it in. I mean, what's the point, feels like their approach.
