So I did a few promotions here and to be honest. I'm actually very suprised they are still in business!Prior to hosting a succession of events here I was a patron who lived in the area, I never saw but one or 2 really good events. Now with that being said I do want to recognize that we did do a seriese of shows however they way we were treated the ENTIRE TIME was ridiculous! The bar tender kept coming over complaining and staring at my self and guests who were buying drinks. MY biggest issue is that even though this was a while ago I don't see any real improvements to this business.I don't want aknowlage the fact that yes we did do the events there and that was done we appreciate that but the small little daggers being thrown at us were unprofesinal. and honestly this club is so small there should be no expectations here.

I feel like a dinosaur with all of the changes in Oakland sometimes. But Somar always feels like home. **update** 3 years later and my art is in a show there. Deep Sigh! I just love Oakland and SomaR.

They have the most horrible customer service, their security is the most disrespectful type of people I ever met especially the one that call himself Dwight and I’m pretty sure he gave me the wrong name.. Fun place. I ordered a long Island and it was $13 from one girl, $15 from another. I'm not sure what that's about it. They charge for admission which is whack because drinks are pricey. I forgot I was in the Bay but even when I lived here I didn't pay admission. I did like that they had a water dispensar for the public.

This place was great until a girl was getting escorted out and stopped to tell her friend she was getting thrown out when the bouncer hit her in the face. Kinda kills the mood ?♂️ definitely not the safest place for women. (To owner:night of July 22, but happend early morning July 23rd.)
