I feel like a dinosaur with all of the changes in Oakland sometimes. But Somar always feels like home. **update** 3 years later and my art is in a show there. Deep Sigh! I just love Oakland and SomaR.
Fun place. I ordered a long Island and it was $13 from one girl, $15 from another. I'm not sure what that's about it. They charge for admission which is whack because drinks are pricey. I forgot I was in the Bay but even when I lived here I didn't pay admission. I did like that they had a water dispensar for the public.
When I went, there were two great DJ's taking turns inside and an amazing Filipino food offering (there Thursdays and Fridays) outside on the sidewalk.. two words: Biria. Lumpia. The loaded tots (that were vegetarian) and adobo chicken tacos are some close runners up ?There was a healthy option for mixed drinks but they were in the process of resetting, ramping up for when things reopen. The aesthetic is welcoming, somewhat industrial with lots of wood accents. I look forward...
