Stinky tofu is a Shanghai specialty dimsum. But here the stinky tofu is not stinky. It's just ordinary firm tofu. it cost $10. Very disappointed.

I’ve been to a few Szechuan style places around the Bay, mostly in the South Bay like JX Cuisine, and this far surpasses them. Try the Cumin lamb, excellent smoky chili flavor. Spicy hot enough to feel it, and it won’t stop you from having a conversation. Tea was free for me at lunch on a Saturday.Truly five star atmosphere, the big wooden chairs are memorable, not like a typical dining hall.

I've been going to Spices 3 and the whole Spices empire (there are 4 locations, two in Oakland, two in San Francisco).They have a variety of spicy and non-spicy szechuan food. I've gone there for family dinners and we've always enjoyed items like their hot & sour soup, spicy cucumbers, shanghai noodles with pork, or shanghai rice cakes.They're cash only, however they're now part of Doordash and other delivery services, so you could still place a pickup order.

To begin with, the food is very bad and to top it all off, after you have just eaten, they charge you a lot and force you to leave a tip as if it were an obligation, and if you don't let the waitresses get angry and yell at you, I will never set foot in that place again. joke ????????

What bad service I come here because I love the food they prepare here but a lady who served had an arrogant and unprofessional attitude, it seemed like she didn't want to communicate with me, it seemed like I didn't pay for her services and food, it seemed like they gave me the food for free, I hope a better service next time...

Such great, fresh tasting food.Got the marinated cucumbers (zesty and garlicky), scallion pancake (light, like pillows) and garlic beef over rice (tasty with nice beef strips). All STUNNING.This New Yorker is happy!
The spicy vegetarian chow mein was excellent - definitely one of the best I've ever had! I would go back just for that.

This is the actual Spices if you're looking for mala spice taste. The one right opposite, the noodle house is probably a competitor or previous business partners that split up. Big dining space though we had to sit on the other side, the extra staff table ? but food was good no complaints here. Mapo spicy tofu is amazing so is the cold mala chicken yum!
