Did an internet search for delis in my area and this was at the top of the list. I love an Italian deli sandwich and the one that I had here hit the spot. It was perfect for me.

The brisket sandwich is very good. The classic Italian is spot on.

The Ranch Hand is the Perfect sandwich! Meaty, well balanced heat and tender meat well crafted! Thanks Len for the best sandwich in a great spot with great music!

I thought the brisket sandwich was good. I really liked the bun. I got our without the pimento cheese, well because i think it's gross. I didn't think there was anything spectacular about the sandwich especially since it was 15 bucks with tax. It was only 6 in long and it wasn't very thick with brisket or even a lot of slaw.

Food is good, service is awful. Walk in, ask if they still have Mac and cheese. Cashier says of course. So I order a bowl and she comes back and says, "oh, I have only enough for a side". Exactly why I asked. Sigh. Then order a Reuben. Which is on pressed rye per the menu. Except they don't have a press, which they don't say until I ask when they are wrapping the sandwich. Ugh. Pastrami not even heated up. Sandwich maker doesn't wear gloves and is scrolling through his phone while waiting for the bread to toast. Keeps wiping his hands on his jeans while prepping the sandwich. Really? It was obvious that the two workers just didn't care. Kind of sad.

I waited for 45 minutes for a simple Italian sandwich and then went up to ask if my order got lost. Turns out it was but that they could not bump my order up the queue NOR WOULD THEY GIVE ME A REFUND. I will not be going back since they refused to refund me. Literally f****** THEFT

Great sandwich spot at night

50min wait for 2 sandwiches with no apology or acknowledgment. Sandwich maker was not sympathetic to the guy complaining before me. Worst service and just a mediocre sandwich. Won't be back.

Just got a mystery sandwich made by Len and it was pretty darn good. The idea is that the sandwich maker comes up with a unique idea on the spot and you get a delicious surprise. Since everything on the menu looked good, I figured there wouldn't be much risk. I was right. I hesitate to tell you exactly what I got because who knows what they'll make for you. It wasn't too wild, nor was it very predictable. Thanks Len! So good was my sandwich that I ordered a Classic Italian to take home to my husband. He says it was quite tasty with a nice spicy kick. This place has a good vibe, the service is prompt and friendly, and the sandwiches are hearty at a good price. Everything one wants in a deli. They also have beer on tap. Nice!

We got the classic Italian sandwich and some man n cheese. The sandwich was quite delish! Meats and cheese were right on point and the bread was a nice soft white roll. The Mac and cheese was ok, I had to add some cheese. The place itself is very clean and has sitting area at the bar and some outside near sidewalk. I would recommend to those looking for good sandwiches while in Temescal.

I've been here on three occasions and that'll be my limit. This area could use a good deli sandwich spot now that Genova's is long gone, but this spot doesn't cut the mustard. (Sorry for that, couldn't help it!) The sandwiches are on lackluster bread (not OK here in the East Bay) and the meat/fillings are sparse. At the price point they are charging, also not OK. Service is slow as well..... Swing and a miss.

I can deal with attitude but when that attitude comes with the completely wrong order, I have a problem. Walked back to my office only to discover my order turkey and cheddar on rye was roast beef and Swiss. This was after the staff member was annoyed that I moved from the ordering counter because I was confused as to where to speak with him.

The quality went down so quickly that it was kind of a shock. Used to go here quite often since it's close to home and the sandwiches were delicious. But after a while, it just felt like night and day. The ingredients used felt old and even the bread had that 2 day old taste to it. The prices went down for sure but why did the quality? Not going back at all since it seems like they're not doing much to fix it and now they have the most awkward hours of operations.

Overpriced and slow service. The complaints seem to be consistent on other reviews too. Got one sandwich off the specials board, 2 bags of chips and a bottle of water and the total was around $21. There was one couple ahead of us that got two sandwiches, and there were two people working behind the counter. I watched the guy making the sandwiches and it was worse than watching paint dry. He honestly moved slower than a DMV employee. It took almost 20 minutes before our sandwich came out, and it was during the 12pm hour on a weekday. I understand pricing needs to reflect the overhead and operating costs for this primo location, but I was just not impressed enough with the sandwich to repeat the experience. The place has a lot of potential, I hope they figure it out
