SugarSweet peanut butter cookies are the best ever'eva'eva' everrrrr, I was sold at the whiff of and a life customer from the 1st bite, took me all the way back to 7th-8th lunch period, "more'moooorrrrreeee peanut butter cookies please"

I’ve been searching for a great bakery ever since the one I’ve been using since I was a child shut down in the pandemic. This place is really, really good. We ordered my daughter’s birthday cake and two dozen cupcakes and I think at least 8 people asked me where is was from they liked it so much. Five flavors of cupcakes and the cake itself were all so good. The lemon cupcake was especially delicious. I LOVE buttercream frosting and this is up there with the best I’ve ever had. You can tell how fresh all the ingredients are, old school baking in the best sense possible. The ordering system was really easy. I filled out the online form, David got back to me super fast and sent me three pictures for inspiration/options to match our custom cake theme and the only problem was it was hard to choose which one we liked best they were all so pretty. I paid the invoice online once we’d finalized the order and it couldn’t have been simpler. We loved the cake when we picked it up, so pretty (plus then delicious once we ate it). Excited I’ve found the go to place for all future birthdays and cake needs for our family. Love their story too!

I honestly could not tell they were vegan. Moist and delicious. Perfection. I made a custom cupcake order. They responded promptly and professionally.

This place is amazing! We ordered their red velvet cake for our daughters 2nd birthday. Everyone loved how delicious the cake was, asking us where it was made. We really loved the quality of the food, the service and supporting a black owned business. We will definitely be recommending Sugarsweet to friends and awaiting a reason to order from them again. Thank you for an amazing dessert to celebrate our little queen!

I placed an order for 2 dozen cupcakes with photos of what I wanted the cupcakes to look like. They were perfect! And the taste was insanely good. I can't believe it's vegan!

Cupcakes were ok and didn't have much flavor

I ordered a 3 layered cake for my daughter's birthday. The presentation is good, my daughter is quite pleased with the color and design, however some missing details and the cake is dry.

This spot is new to me but the flavors and commitment to craft is on point. I followed my nose to the door and it opened into an inviting space with a beaming owner/baker greeting me.The owner’s name is David and I got to learn more about what they specialize in. Custom cakes are where they’re at apparently. However, my nose led and my belly followed - I got 3 cookies and 3 cupcakes.The cookies were delicious, flavored with enough distinction between each type and not too much sugar - regardless of the name of the shop. Cookies 10/10The 3 cupcakes had exquisite frosting, buttery, fun colors and a flavor-filled “frosting chip”. Nom nom nom, the cake was fluffy & airy. My only gripe was it smelled/tasted a tad bit too eggy. Cupcakes 9/10I will be back to try more!Kudos to a friendly owner, even at the end of his day.

One of my fav cupcakes spots in the Bay. There isn't a bad cupcake on the menu. The carrot, strawberry and lemon are my favorites!!

Sugarsweet offers cupcakes, cookies, and custom cakes for all your celebratory needs! You can depend on them for classic flavors, but also try their blueberry white chocolate (with actual fruit!) or chocolate oatmeal cookies (both the perfect chewiness with ever-so-slightly crispy edges, $1.75 each), or their soft and fluffy cupcakes (my kid was partial to their strawberry, $3). Owner Pastry Chef David Benton is self-taught and originally began Sugarsweet out of his duplex kitchen in East Oakland.

I had ordered a custom Hennessy cake for my friend's birthday. They do ask you to provide a sample photo for the order. The baker did a fantastic job creating this cake! It looks absolutely amazing!! Definitely exceeded all expectations. It was a peanut butter frosting and chocolate cake combo. And the taste was just as good if not better. It was the right amount of frosting and sweetness and tasted delicious. The staff is also extremely friendly! The baker David personally came to chat with me and get feedback on the design of the cake. It is also reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend this place!

It was my first time there. I had heard about this place was going to open and I forgot about it. I was parked in front of the store visiting another business close by and I just had to go in. Wow! I ordered cookies and they were soooo good! They close at 4pm, so I went inside around 3:35pm. A matter of fact the business had gotten pretty busy during the last 30 minutes of closing. You have to go! You will not be disappointed. They have vegan options, which I am not, but there are a lot of vegan people. Check out the website to see what they offer.

These are the most delicious cupcakes and cakes. We had cupcakes and a cake made for my wedding and they were so moist and delicious that people were hoarding them. We later had cupcakes made especially for my mom’s first heavenly birthday and they were perfect. Highly recommend!

Hands down irresponsible if you don't stop here when in Oakland and have tried there cookies you don't know cookies until you tried one of there cookies I'm in love plus its down the street and these ladies deserve a noble piece prize for these babys ? ? ❤️ ? ? ♥️

The verdict is still out however I did order a cake that's going to be picked up on the 8th I ordered from them because their website shows beautiful CUSTOM cakes. I don't think the taste and quality will disappoint either. I ordered online and I do want to say the person who dealt with me. I think his name was David was extremely kind and patient because I knew nothing about this process. I can't wait to meet him and tip them for this
