They’re involved in pushing right-wing recalls of duly elected Democrats. I wouldn’t come back, but if you’re a right wing Republican then this is the place for you.

Great little place. Joe the owner is a great guy who does slot for the community. Stop in have a beer and some food.

This spot is great, from the food, to the beer, to the conversations. I already loved living in Montclair, and Taps makes me love it even more <3

Apparently the regular chef was out and the person running the kitchen had two days of experience. The food was very slow and the chicken on my sandwich was inedible. The fries could have been good if they had been cooked a little longer and not been served dripping in oil. Ask who is cooking before ordering food. Additionally the beer selection was surprisingly limited considering the name of the place.

The staff here are informed, laid back, and yet fully attentive. We really appreciate stopping here to decompress when ever we’re in the area. If this isn’t already your favorite spot I strongly suggest you make it yours. Food and drink is hard to beat ESPECIALLY for the price point.

I haven't been here in a minute and stopped in last week with my kids when I didn't have any dinner plans and was too tired by the week to make dinner. Was fun to run into so many familiar faces from Thornhill Elementary! There was another family dining in and we invited them to share the large table with us -- was a nice and casual place for dinner. Food is always above average, beer is cold, the guy behind the bar (maybe the owner?) offered a free shot of tequila. Would love to go back more often now that the weather is getting nicer. Sweet little neighborhood spot, great vibes, would love to support it. I also saw some folks picking up six packs of craft beer, not sure how it works but nice to have that option!

We tried this place for the first time as takeout. Very good food overall. They have gluten-free bread for sandwiches upon request. We tried the pastrami melt and fish n chips. Fish N chips is not gluten-free. They aren't open for lunch which is a shame because they could be getting a lot of traffic. Their sign is also not very visible. Marketing dept needs to step it up ;)

I had a phenomenal experience at Taps and Takeout and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a bite to eat, terrific beer on tap, or a warm ambiance. Joe, the owner, welcomed me into his place and was very kind to me throughout my time there. I had the steak sandwich and it was a well done meal at a good price ($12 for mine). The menu is extensive and the chef in the back does a great job getting orders out. I met some nice people there as well, mostly locals from the surrounding neighborhoods. It had a nice community feet to it and I'm sure I'll be back very soon.Vegetarian options: They had some vegetarian options including a sandwich and i believe an appetizer, but don't quote me on the second part.

Perfect spot for a bite before an event at the church across the street. Our server was absolutely delightful. It was fun to be offered free shots of whiskey when we arrived. Food is satisfying and reasonably priced. Lots of families having a great time.

The name is a bit of a misnomer. We thought it would not have seating, and it actually has a pleasant large table and outdoor seating. The owner is affable. The decor is down home and charming. Macaroni and cheese was some of the best I have had in some time. Matzo ball soup was hearty and full of good stuff.

What a charming little place. So glad we found it on Google Maps. It's hard to find Matzo ball soup anywhere at all, and this one was delicious. I especially loved the macaroni and cheese. Meat on the ribs fell off the bone, as it should. Service was friendly and attentive. And in the age of the $45 pizza, in contrast the prices are extremely reasonable here.

Phenomenal, albeit *very small* neighborhood bar with great simple food. Joe is an incredibly friendly and welcoming owner, so if you live in the area, walk on down! There's often local music playing next door. Just a quiet, chill spot. We love it.
