This has to be some of the most authentic Mexican food I had in Oakland. The community and the service were on another level and they never fail to make it feel like home. You have to try their Birria Tacos!
An amazing gem (not so hidden) in the Fruitvale neighborhood of Oakland, CA.
With SO MUCH great Latin cuisine in the Fruitvale area it was hard to choose. Taqueria Zocalo was recommended to me by a co-worker while on-site so I gave it a shot.
I’m glad I did!
Upon entering, the business is bright and clean with colorful murals and other artistic pieces strategically placed. They have their menu on a screen if you’re waiting...

Such a beautiful restaurant with beautiful decorations and amazing service! Right when you walk in you are greeted with amazing staff and they have cupcakes and chips on display perfect for kids! The food, drinks and milkshakes are all 10 out of 10! Such unforgettable flavors and experience! Really enjoyed my time and highly recommend!
