Great atmosphere to watch games or just get a feel for the heart of the city. I've been coming probably weekly now with friends or family and the food is great. It's consistent in quality and easy to just order nearly everything on the menu to share. We usually get a couple of crab sandwiches, wings and I get the burger myself.
I used to come here in weekends and couldn't say the same... So just asked our waiter about the food and supposedly they've had a new chef for the past few months. Compliments to the chef for his improvements.

The owner asked me to repair his pool cues they were in such a mess and I repaired them I picked them up from Oakland brought them back to Martinez repair them and drove them back repaired and he never paid me so you never see me going into that place again. You always know about the owner how good the bar is

Just had a weird experience where they tabbed out my card and handed it back to me, but never showed me a receipt to sign or had me pick a tip amount on the handheld (I was at a table with a server). Then when I asked twice about the situation nobody seemed to be able to show a total or explain it, which felt strange. Just told me “you’re good to go”.

I guess things are under new management, menu largely unchanged but prices have skyrocketed,$22 for a burger and waffle fries. As far as burgers go, it was fine. At that price I expect some more value in the dish, like 1/2lb, hand ground chuck, or something. I just can’t come here casually anymore. I have no problem spending even $30 for a burger, but it had better be awesome. No wonder there is a line up at Lovely’s.

Bad choice of metal stools. Butt is still sore and I left 4 hours ago. I'm physically disabled so standing long periods of time isn't an option. I think there was only one couch by the pool table closest to the window. Please invest in more couches and soft seating in general.
Another thing is the restrooms. They smell almost like sewer gas. Only one restroom has a mirror for some reason.

We live here. We've probably been here close to 30 times for UFC events and love every experience. Great communicative managers, excellent servers, strong drinks, decent food. It's great for a date night if you love sports. It's consistent, easy, and great atmosphere and community. We're kind of part of the regulars that come for every ufc event. We've made friends here. It's definitely a big part of the Oakland community. The ONLY thing I'd change are the uncomfortable Ikea metal bar seats in the back room for ufc events. I get that it's a bar, but if you're there for an athletic event, you're sitting for 2-3 hours. It's painful to sit on for long periods. But other than that, I love everything. We stay for long periods and spend a lot, but you could easily get 2 drinks, 1 main dish and fries and not break the bank.
