Didn’t realize it’s a ghost kitchen. Food was not great. And: very mechanically filled. Bleep-bloop. I can see: if you order Door Dash/Uber Eats: you’d never know if it’s coming from this sort of place. Dogs were tough. Rolls were too sweet. Soulless.

Stars reflect a “too good to go” order that said the deal was $15 worth of food and we got a plate of hash browns with a ton of cheese that was super greasy. We didn’t eat it. We paid $6 and got $6 worth of hash brown potatoes that should have been tossed.

"The Food Spot" is a ghost kitchen at the Oakland Food Hall in East Oakland. It's menu features- mexican foods, burgers, wings, breakfast and power bowls. This was actually my 2nd attempt at ordering from this place. I originally ordered thru the Seamless App and the estimated delivery time was 40-50 mins. That turned into 2-hours+ and counting. The kitchen called me to ask what kind of protein I wanted, so the place was open and operational. When the estimated delivery time stretched to 3-hours, I cancelled the order. GrubHub/Seamless gave me a full refund and a $10 credit to try ordering again. So the next day, I placed the exact same order, but an hour earlier. The order arrived in an hour. Now, when I got my order, I wondered why it takes so long to get the orders out. You get a lot of food, but it's plain and generic. It's just like the food you get from the hot food deli at Cardenas Supermarket in Oakland. Seriously, it looks exactly the same! I ordered the Enchiladas meal (beef) and a Super taco (beef). Both orders came complete with beans and rice. Super Taco, Grade (2/5): Served as a meal with beans and rice. They use one tortilla with a lot of fillings, and it came apart when I tried to eat it.Enchiladas, Grade (3/5): Rolled up tortillas with beef and rice inside. Served on top of rice and ground beef. Melted cheese on top. Beans and salad on the side. That's it. No salsa, or spices. It's perfect if you're on a bland diet. My impression of "The Food Spot" is that it's like a cafeteria. They serve a wide variety of dishes, but don't specialize in any one menu. Experiences may vary, but I won't be ordering again......
