I went to Kon Tiki during Restaurant Week and it was so much fun! The staff love what they do and it shows. Plus the burger hit the spot. Their special was the cheeseburger, fries, and a small Mai Tai for $25.00!! YUM! How fun is THAT!?

Went on Fri 2/23 and had a godawful time because the DJ and/or sound system made screaming loud dogwhistle-pitch noise. Maybe you can’t hear it in your 30s+ but it was Guantanamo tier as a younger person.

My boyfriend and I came to the Kon-Tiki on December 6th for a couple of drinks and a good time. We were the only black people there and after I had 2 drinks and my boyfriend had 2 shots of vodka I asked for a refill and was told that it’ll be right out, 20 minutes later I asked for the same refill because I never got it and was told again that it would be out. After 45 minutes of waiting my boyfriend asked the bartender if we were ever gonna get our drinks and then we were finally told that they were refusing to serve us any more alcohol. We weren’t drunk at all and actually went to another bar but the biggest issue we had is that they could’ve told us BEFORE that they refused to serve us instead of having us sit there for 45 minutes and pretending that they were going to serve us.

The burger reviews are true!! It’s a magically gratifying burger. To spam or not to spam is up to you. It’s a total gift either way. Also gorgeous; strange drinks.

THE Tiki spot in Oakland, solid tiki drinks with a dim, sexy vibe.Once you walk through their nondescript front doors, you're thrown into a candle-lit intimate tiki bar with plenty of spots--booths for groups, bar seating for the adventurous, and smaller cute tables for date night or girl talk. Seat yourself, make yourself welcome. There is only indoor seating, and they offer a full kitchen so NO BYO food. We didn't know, and were firmly reminded no outside food allowed oops!Their drinks menu is gorgeous. SO many options from rum-centered tiki dranks to mezcal and. We already got food, so we were solely looking to enjoy a drink or few. Their menu is great, tons of options depending on what you're looking for. I was between the lavender pisco Heyerdahl Maneuver vs the Japanese whiskey pineapple Cosmic Ship Yamato. Our server eager said the Cosmic Ship was her favorite, so I went with her rec. AND she was right! The Cosmic Ship is delicious, such a nice tropical blend of the whiskey, pineapple, plum wine, and citrus fruits...wasn't too bold with the whiskey, as I usually take mine as a sour. Drinks are high on the ABV, so you really get your drink and your money's worth. They're beautifully dressed up likely with a garnish and a fun time.Would def rec Kon-Tiki if you're on a bar crawl or are craving a nice tiki drink. My fave tiki spot is still in the City, Last Rites (go check it). Right now their drink theme is intergallactic and it's giving Beyonce in her Renaissance era.

Staff is cool, the menu has changed since I been gone but they can make all the standard tiki/ exotic drinks and they're really good. New menu is sorta space themed which is cool. Haven't tried the food since the mmenu change but it was good last time I tried it especially the rangoon dip and chicken sandwich

The drinks were great! This cute amazing tiki bar is nicely designed and definitely a place to chill and drink. Definitely picture IG worthy and has its own character. I would definitely go again for a date night or with friends! The bartenders were kind and efficient too!

Cool selection of unique tiki cocktails. The spot has a dark, beetlejuice vibe going on which is not what I expected from a tiki place but made the experience even better. I traveled to Oakland for work and I went to Kon-Tiki the 2 nights I was there. The first night I ate a burger (yummy) and the second night I had the mushrooms...TRY THE MUSHROOMS! The drinks I tried were: Princess of Mars and Cosmo Ship Yamato, Crater of Excalvia and Heyerdahl Maneuver.

So we decided to try this place, 1st time in there. When you walk in its very low light, not a problem, but just know if low light is an issue for ya, not a good place to go.We got there at just after 5 when they opened, they weren't super busy, but enough people came in to take up all the booths on the edges. We wanted to sit inside what would have been considered a cabana nook, there were 4 of us, the 1st thing the bartender says when we walk towards it, how many in your party... no hello, good evening, nothing like a welcoming statement. Then he said, sorry, we hold this space for larger parties. Just to wrap up this piece, the whole time we were there, no large parties came in. The rest of our service was fine, just came across wrong 1st thing. The bartenders just don't come off as friendly, they seem a bit arrogant and rough around the edges. The runner that comes from the kitchen is awesome!!!I will say, the food was wonderful! Please see the pics, everything is as delicious as it looks.Last thing, this place is a bit pricy, 4 of us was 316.00 and that was with 1 round of drinks.

Super cute bar with great ambiance and location. This bar is only three blocks away from the Fox Theater, so we stopped by before a concert. My friend and I got the Phoenix bowl to share. It came out with a show (the server showed us a cool little fire trick), and the drink looked super pretty and enticing. It unfortunately tasted pretty much like straight rum, but it did its job, and for just $25, it was still worth it. We didn't get food this time, but it smelled amazing, and it's definitely something we want to come back and try next time!

Really fun tiki bar. The drinks were great and mine were not overly sweat. Very good hamburger too. Decor was appropriately kitschy.
