The service was great the oysters where excellent but the clam chowder was not good, it was to watery you could not taste the clamp flavor at all that's where you lost points with me otherwise everything else was very good.

Really lovely spot perfect for snacks or full dinner. We love the service - kind and helpful, but with a light touch (non invasive!) - and have had great experiences every time. The location is convenient for getting to a second spot or to the city. Highly recommend!!!

We discovered this place last year and absolutely love it! The seafood is always fresh, you can’t beat the wine and $1 oyster deal and the ambiance is beautiful. The best part about it is Niffy who manages all the tables and takes such good care of you. Such a gem!!

This place is a hidden gem! We found The Salty Pearl by accident while visiting Narrative, the huge vintage/antique store next door. It's excellent! They offer a great selection of East and West Coast oysters, plus a variety of seafood-focused small plates, entrees, and platters. Everything that we ordered was top-notch. They also offer oysters for only $1 each with the purchase of a bottle of wine. Easy parking in the nearby Washington Street garage. We look forward to going back soon!

Excellent oysters. The crudo is also excellent but too small of a portion. Pricey but worth it!

The Salty Pearl brings great energy to Jack London Square, and it’s clear the team behind it is warm, well-meaning, and trying hard. But unfortunately, the experience doesn’t quite live up to the potential.
Service is erratic—likely due to being short-staffed. We sat for over 15 minutes before anyone came by, and throughout the meal, the attention seemed more focused on cleaning and organizing than actually serving customers. Despite entering the correct party size in our reservation, our table remained awkwardly over-set the whole time.
The oysters are good but pricey (close to $4 each), and the dining area is cramped—tables and barstools packed uncomfortably close together. The decor has a kitschy, attic-like feel, and the sound system pumps loud contemporary R&B nonstop, which won’t be to everyone’s taste.
In short: The Salty Pearl has charm, but it’s hidden behind a long list of small frustrations. With better staffing and a bit more polish, it could be a real gem.

We went for a Thursday happy hour one dollar oysters up to one dozen with a bottle of wine. We sat outside. They had other very affordable appetizers. Delicious smoked trout dip and good shrimp cocktail. I had the fresh anchovies 😊instead of the chowder which I have heard is excellent.

Food was good but the service was just plain gross. Thought it was because the server believed we were only going to order something small but even after ordering we were barely looked at. Pretty sure we had our dirty plates in front of us for like 30 minutes despite the fact i tried order more afterwards lol.

Ahhh my new favorite seafood spot! I love, my boyfriend and I came here for our 6th anniversary on Sunday. Customer service was phenomenal, we were assisted by Kim & I forgot the other gentleman’s name. He was tall with a flannel shift. The food was top tier!! High recommend for drinks and food.

Feels like you’re in an east coast small vibey restaurant. BBQ oysters are a treat served with acme garlic buttery bread. Great for oysters and some drinks. Limited menu which makes ordering easier! We have had the burger and lobster roll, which were fine if that’s what you’re craving. Accepts reservations on tock
You can walk away with a $20 bill or $100 bill.

Oysters were inexpensive but flavorless. The best thing we ordered was the trout dip. The meal was uninspiring. Made reservations indicating it was for a birthday, contacted the restaurant about the dessert menu for the celebration. The hostess/waitstaff didn’t make a comment about the BD. Overall, disappointing.
