Best Filipino food in oakland. Super authentic Bangus. Only thing is I wish they’d eventually have their own restaurant instead of a ghost kitchen but I will keep ordering from here because it’s just so good. But I respect that restaurants are expensive and that these folks are doing what they can because the food is so worth it.

Ahhh. Finally! a very good filipino food in the bay so far. (just my thoughts) No doubts why, all the good filipino restaurants I know are always based out of a commercial kitchen or (ghost kitchen). Just imagine if they have physical dine in restaurants. I'm so glad we found them while my baby is admitted to the hospital in Oakland Service - could be better. nearly 40 minutes is too much for a takeout order.

Be forewarned that this is a Ghost Kitchen, it’s not a real restaurant you can walk into. It’s part of the Oakland Food Hall which is a completely “digital” food ordering place and pick up (some dine in seating but ambience is super questionable). Also, we arrived around 7:10 and ordered (didn’t know it was a ghost kitchen) and walked out with our food in hand at 8:15 or so. Once we placed our order, it showed a staggering wait time of about 40 minutes, but it actually ended up taking about an hour. They kept saying they were backed up but there were barely any people ordering from Tipunan, mostly the Pollo Campero place :( So not sure how they were 1 hour backed up for 2 entrees and the lumpia which were cold. The pork adobo and loganisa entrees however were amazing. Delicious food, but I can’t justify the unpredictable wait. We may order way in advance then pick it up, but honestly it’s not a great area at night as well.

As a doordasher this place is great! Large servings, and good food, what else do you need? I work in surgery, so what I do is I order as I'm dressing out from work and by the time I leave hospital, get home, the food is already at the door. Just pay the small doordash fee and skip the line everybody on here complains about - I've never actually been to the physical store.

They took my order then I never received it! This is in a food hall so they don't have an actual restaurant. It's pretty much food you have to doordash. A few chairs inside so you can sit and wait.

Their kare kare is delicious. It is the only restaurant I've tried that can actually make it good. Sinigang was good/ok. Pancit and spaghetti were a miss...didn't like it. Prices are insane for no reason, and you have to order your rice and chili oil separately. Like what restaurant does that? Charging for chili oil with your dish? Ridiculous. I was a frequent customer but no longer supporting them. Food is too mid to be that pricey.

I ordered catering from Tipunan for a 30-person surprise party and they took such good care of us. The party was on a Sunday, which isn’t during normal business hours, but Jojo made sure pick up went smoothly. The food was exceptional and we got compliments from a lot of people at the party asking where we ordered from. We got chicken skewers, pork adobo, vegetarian lumpia and tofu sisig - everything was scrumptious and we had more than enough for our group. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for some authentic, Filipino flavors!

Have ordered delivery from here a couple times. Really good sinigang and sisig. Usually get it with the garlic rice. Very tasty! FYI it does take awhile so be ready to wait 1-1.5 hours usually so I just order well in advance

OMG THE FOOD IS AMAZING! I got the longsilog and was super stoked because they have an option to make it crispy and I love my longanisa burnt. I also got the lechon kawali silog that was super crunchy. Not pictured is the tofu kare kare which is a good option for anyone vegetarian. It's full of tofu, eggplant, green beans, and cabbage and has so much flavor. Idk something about eating a dish made with a whole jar of peanut butter is sooooo satisfying. Pro tip: Order ahead because everything is made fresh to order. It was my first time eating here and decided to go in and ended up waiting a good 45 minutes. When I ordered on the iPad I didn't notice the estimated time until I got the receipt. This is home cooked Filipino food and if you know home cooked Filipino food you know it's a labor of love and can't be rushed.

Ordered a tray of veggie pancit bihon last minute from for a school potluck. Although it was shorter than the recommended lead time, the owner was very accommodating and had it ready for me on time. The pancit was masarap/delicious. The pancit was a big hit with our school community - not a noodle was left! Unfortunately, I forgot to get a photo!

Amazing people and amazing food. The lumpia is addicting. (I could devour a party tray on my own!) Super friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely support Tipunan in the future.

I'd give Tipunan more stars if I could. Amazing food (their lumpia is pretty-much addicting) and incredible service. After a death in the family, the folks at Tipunan scrambled to get me a same-day order and their support and flexibility couldn't be more appreciated. THANK YOU for the yums and the hospitality. I appreciate you all.

I order dinner from this through DoorDash. I favorite is the kare-Kate with the crispy pork belly, turon, nilaga and the mungo! But for the 3 months I have not seen the mungo on the menu (please bring it back!). So far this is the only Filipino restaurant that I ordered from here in Oakland. The other ones are either too way expensive or the food is not what I expect from a Filipino restaurant. For sure, I will recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.
