Woo's take on traditional fried rice is excellent and his meatballs are super well-seasoned and spiced. Let him cook.

The flavor was good but the rice was definitely undercooked.

I had this place at wondrous brewing! The fried rice has good wok flavor and it’s super tasty.

Got the $15 fried rice of the day and the rice was not fully cooked. Sad.

We got the fried rice and lion's head meatball sub -- both were very good, and highly recommend the combination.

Make sure you check the website for their current location. Yelp's location is inaccurate. They are currently popped up next to Wondrous Brewing in Emeryville. My gf was at the brewery with her coworkers and brought some garlic noodles home. I was amazed with the crispy garlic noodles and the chili oil flavor I ate the whole thing before I even realized. The texture of the noodles is as if you were to eat instant noodles straight from the bag, nice and crunchy, with the flavor of spicy garlic noodles. I went on their website to find their menu so I can go buy more things.I got their garlic noodles again and also got their kimchi and bacon fried rice. Next time I'll get it in burrito form because why not? It sounds intriguing. But the fried rice was honestly only ok. It was average tasting. I will consistently go back for their garlic noodles and I will try more things from the menu. Great pop up find, wish them more business, cannot say this enough, I love the garlic noodles.

it was okay -- wasn't anything worth trying twice. The sliders were missing the mushrooms that it was supposed to come with and the fried rice was bland

We ordered about 4 things from these guys and they were OK. My wife wanted to throw it all out, but the next day she mixed it all up and added some eggs and now we have something beautiful and edible. Staff were kinda nice. A little reserved.

We happened to find Woo Can Cook when we were at Two Pitchers Brewing in Oakland and were hoping for something yummy to eat while we were there and we found it! I ordered the Kimchi Fried Rice and my husband ordered the Bacon Fried Rice and made it into a burrito. Our order did take a little longer than expected but it looked like there was only one chef making each order fresh and crispy. I was so happy and impressed with the taste, amount of bacon and crispiness in my Kimchi Fried Rice - so good! My husband liked the burrito as well but said he would probably order not burrito style next time.I would definitely recommend checking them out!

Let me start with the good, the kimchi fried rice and bacon fried rice were very good! I would definitely order the kimchi fried rice again. But the bad, the garlic noodles were actively bad, their take on a crispy fried noodle needs a lot of work. They were just dry. We threw them out. My friend ordered the sesame noodles and they were also not good. A bit of an odd texture and the flavor was lacking. We couldn't identify any sesame. So, if you find yourself wanting to purchase food from this establishment I would advise you to steer clear of noodles but enjoy the fried rice!

I got the Crispy Kimchi Fried Rice today while at the Alameda Antiques Fair, and it was so so good! Kind people working and great food, couldn't ask for more :)

Love it, the fried rice and scallion pancakes remind me of my childhood . . . but with a modern touch!

I was drawn in by the impressive wok-flipping skills - food being thrown/flipped a foot in the air and skillfully sliding back into the pan. Never thought it would be fun to watch fried rice being made. And how often do you see an authentic Chinese wok over a jet-powered stove in the middle of a festival? Okay I'll bite, I thought. But for me, fried rice is usually a side dish, not a main course. It'll have to have a lot of flavor to be the star of the show. The Kimchi Bacon Fried Rice was delicious. Savory, filling, hot, and with little explosions of kimchi throughout. A heaping container of rice to fill you up. That would have been enough for me to leave happy, but then I tried the pork bun, and I'd like to address some of the other reviews of the pork bun on here because here's where I think Woo Can Cook really shines...I grew up eating char siu bao purchased at dim sum restaurants or at bakeries in Chinatown my whole life, and they've always been made the same way: Soft bread loaded with sugar and filled with mediocre pieces of pork (that are usually leftover pieces from main dishes made the night before), marinated in sauce that they didn't really give a lot of thought to. Yeah, they were cheap, but you could tell it's because they were cheaply made. Woo Can Cook is the only place trying to do something different with the char siu bao, and it's pretty game-changing. The bun is made with a thicker bread that isn't as overwhelmingly sweet, and the pork is meatier and more fresh - you can tell they are choice cuts of meat, not throwaways. The sauce is thick and savory, not a thin, cheap sauce with a ton of sugar and corn starch. Instead of having the thing deflate when you take your first bite (original char siu baos are also filled mostly with air - another way they get you), every bite is hearty, full of meat and bread. I've never seen anyone dare to mess with the recipe of the char siu bao and it's a bold move...we've been spoon fed the same recipe for so long that to do anything different makes people angry, and they'll do anything to stay in the matrix. Maybe there were some timing issues with the other reviewers - the thicker bread probably gets hard over time - but if you get it just right, that char siu bao opens up a whole new world of Chinese American cuisine, which is what I think Woo Can Cook is trying to do, and what I appreciate about them. Keep up the great work, guys.

Just terrible, super dry, took much longer than promised. All around worst bun I've ever had.

Simple, delicious food that honors and brings awareness to Oakland Chinatown. WCC has a great thing going here. I've had the bacon fried rice, burritos, scallion pancakes, and a lot more. Love the food here and highly recommend it.
