Still a Laurel landmark, WGC is a great stop for coffee, breakfast, or a quick chat w a friend, which I don't have. :(

Really well flavored espresso! They have a good variety of breakfast and lunch options. Food was quick and hot. Recommend the breakfast panini. Reasonably priced.

This unassuming coffee shop serves breakfast all day! Decor is minimal; only a few tables. The latte was surprisingly flavorful. The proprietor says the milk drinks take a stronger roast.

I've been here twice this week. The pastries are great and I was able to try some breakfast foods and that was good too. The breakfast panini is very tasty and the bread is delicious and perfectly crisp. I can't speak about the espresso drinks, but the drip coffee is some of the best I've had. Not too acidic and not weak.

Some interesting options for food and drink at this cafe. Chaga chai latte anyone?Good location in busy commercial district on MacArthur. Parking may be a little bit tricky.Overall, the place is a little bit dark, reminds me of a regular pub open during daylight hours ? Good amount of seating with Wi-Fi and power.

I have been going to World Ground Cafe off and on over the past couple of decades and I would guess there have been several ownership changes over the years and today's experience was good overall... The food (paninis) and (espresso) drinks were above average and the service was OK... The atmosphere was a little subdued, which was fine, as it is nice to talk without shouting but it seems a little run down... Nothing some paint and reupholstering couldn't solve... Overall a nice place to hang out... Parking can be a little tricky so allow time to find a spot...

I drop in here for an Americano for me and kids cocoa for preschooler while waiting 30 minutes for a pickup on Wed. at Laurel School around the corner. They close at 2 daily, so on l y short day works.Going to try their breakfast next time. Pastry looks good but only tried drinks.Friendly, peaceful.

Kind of an institution in East Oakland. Really solid coffee and drink options and a really unique space.

Customer service is always welcoming, if you're social there's always a good conversation waiting or if you want to work with headphones on that's an option. The coffee or tea is great along with good food choices.

Been coming here for more than 10 years. Lattes are good. Egg bites are delicious and the owner is friendly.
