Food was really good and so was the mimosa however if your gonna go be prepared to wait 2 hours people came and sat after I arrived and got therir food before I did which was disappointing because I waited patiently and I gave them a tip before I even tasted the food very busy place I understand they have to service others but one girl of the servers had an attitude and didn't want to help when I kindly asked how much longer for the wait anyways food was delicious I ordered the spicy honey wings with Mac and cheese and yams really great food just needs better customer service!

I had a very disappointing experience last night at Y’s Choice. At first, the atmosphere and music were great, but things quickly went downhill once we were seated.
It took about 15 minutes for our server to acknowledge us and take our order. After ordering, we waited nearly 45 minutes for our food. During that time, our drinks were never brought to the table and only arrived after the food was finally served.
When the food came out, there were no napkins provided. We ordered the fried jumbo prawns with fries, and the server was also late bringing the condiments to the table. My sister ordered a strawberry lemonade, but she was given a regular lemonade instead and was still charged an extra $2 for strawberries that were never added.
When it was time to pay, I asked multiple times for my receipt. It took a while to receive it, and when it finally arrived, it was the wrong one. Once I eventually received the correct receipt, I noticed that several items had been overcharged.
To make matters worse, we were required to pay before receiving our food. I ended up leaving a $15 tip, but based on the service we received, I truly don’t feel it was deserved.
Overall, the service was very poor, and based on this experience, I believe the servers and bussing staff could benefit from additional training.

The food and service was amazing. I don’t want to butcher the young lady who served us but she had long locs. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and her recommendations were on point. I can’t wait to dine in again. The mac and cheese I can still taste it and instead of the banana pudding I wish I would have brought home a side of it. The portions are also great for the price. In my opinion good food is worth the price so it’s definitely worth every penny.

Extremely disappointed with my experience at Y’s Choice in San Francisco. We waited nearly 2 hours just to be seated, which we were willing to overlook because we assumed the food would be worth the wait. Unfortunately, it wasn’t.
After finally being seated, it took another hour for our food to arrive, and when it did, the quality was very underwhelming. The dishes lacked flavor and definitely did not justify the extremely long wait time. By the time the food arrived, the excitement of trying the restaurant was completely gone.
What made the experience even more frustrating is that it’s Ramadan and I had been fasting all day, so I was really looking forward to finally breaking my fast with a good meal. On top of that, we were visiting Oakland from Philadelphia and had heard great things about the food, so our expectations were high. Unfortunately, spending over three hours total waiting for a table and food after fasting all day made the experience especially disappointing.
The only positive part of the experience was the music, which was actually great and created a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, the atmosphere alone can’t make up for the long waits and the quality of the food.
Sadly, this visit was a huge letdown and not worth the time or effort.

Extremely unprofessional!!!!!!!!!!!!! The host told us it would be an HOUR WAIT. To sit TWO ppl he also told us he would call us which never happened and when we came back to the door after sitting in the car for an hour and 15 mins the doors were locked and music blasting inside extremely inconsiderate of ppls time and money we traveled almost 45mins to come and support a black business and thats how they did us never again !!

This place was amazing! Coming from Georgia and stopping here, it was the closest thing to home in the west coast. Did not disappoint!
It was a good atmosphere, however we waited 45mins for our food, the waitresses didn't check on us until we flagged her down. A couple other things took place but its a new business and it will get better. Overall the food was delicious.

The food was a 2 because the smoother turkey was hard and didn't have flavor. The gray&rice was good and had flavor. The mac&cheese was over cooked. Yams was good. Atmosphere was nice the waiter was sweet.

I really hate to do this BUT we gotta do better. The customer service was horrible! The serving size has diminished. I got 2 oxtail for $40 then I had to pay for a corn muffin which was cold. She asked if I wanted her to warm it up after I bit it or did I want to purchase another one. I asked for a salad to go with chicken and croutons on the side and they put everything on top with a container that doesn’t close. We start out good but start cutting corners and just switching up. This will be my very last trip here and I love supporting my black businesses however black businesses most love you back.
