Yang Chow in Oakland might not catch your eye at first glance—it’s a small, older spot. But trust me, the Chinese food scene here often surprises. While I’m not claiming it’s the best, the fried rice was enjoyable, and the portion sizes were generous, easily enough for two. Service could improve, but the prices are reasonable. The garlic spicy chicken was so gross. The chicken was so desiccated I could hardly bite through it. And the sauce is just sugar, starch and dye.

Usually pretty good - chow menu was good. The fried prawns not so good. They were breaded and the taste was horrible.

Opens at 11:00 a.m. there's no inside dining . And parking is a problem between 11 :a.m. - 2:p.m. The food is delicious and the cashier is always ready to take orders. She's very friendly and helpful to customers.
