I love the broth and bitter melon great spot friendly ladies
Came here after being let down by yet another hot pot restaurant getting induction cooktops (dangerous for pacemakers) and had a really lovely meal with my partner. The seafood soup was really good and the duck was amazing. 🦆 🍲 👌
I was in Oakland Chinatown for a bazaar. Since it was during lunch time, I stopped in at this restaurant. So many choices on the menu. I ordered a dish that I haven't had in over 12 years.
Eats: Shrimp and scrambled eggs over rice. It was yummy delicious. The portion was generous with at least 10 pieces of shrimp. Beverage: a pot of hot tea. Weather was cold. The freshly prepared food was comforting and soothing.
Future visit? Yes, to try other items on the menu.
Little hole in the wall, with delicious food, fast service and some of the best prices in town. I always go in and get a delicious Roast Duck and noodle soup and it is to die for. You can also add wontons or swap the duck for pork. Roast Duck is my favorite though. It is delicious and will warm your heart on a cold winter day.
Parking is tough in Chinatown and this place is cash only.
Tasty Cantonese restaurant. Tasty Wan Tan noodles with Char Siu. Friendly staff.
The soups always hit at Yung Kee!!!! I always come here for the roasted duck soup with egg noodles, and this time did not disappoint. It’s simple but rich and delicious. My family’s favorite was the Wor Won Ton; it was filled with all kinds of delicious goodies including won ton, shrimp, chicken, Chinese sausage, squid, and bok choy. Super flavorful and filling. We also tried the Mixed Vegetables, which was alright but not a stand out.
The atmosphere is casual and small business

I had the Won Ton & Barbecued Duck Noodle, where the combination of wonton, duck, and noodles was great. The broth was clear and didn’t leave that overly salty aftertaste. The Barbecued Duck Rice was also delicious, with tender duck that paired well with the rice. However, the Fried Cabbage fell short of expectations—it looked fried but tasted like boiled cabbage. Additionally, waiting 20 minutes for these simple dishes was a letdown. Yung Kee accepts cash only, so be prepared.

Yung Kee has been in Oakland Chinatown for decades. They have a variety of Hong Kong Cantonese dishes including BBQ, won ton noodle soups, clay pot rice and various fried rices and chow meins/funs.At a Hong Kong place I enjoy Tomato Beef Pan Fried Noodles and they do a pretty good job of it.Not sure about now, but pre-COVID they used to be open until 2am, so that was one of the places to hit up after the bars had last call.

This place is amazing! They always have a line out the door for lunch. Although the space is very small, Jo, it kind of has to be that way. When you walk up the window shows you amazing noodle options, and they have other stuff as well obviously. Potstickers to pork buns, you name it. But what I really want to call out Right now is their fried Chicken. When you walk in directly to your left, look for the fried Chicken. If you like the colonels 11 spices, you're going to love this even more. They're sweet and sour chicken is fairly good too, just nowhere near as impressive as the fried chicken.Sold by weight, and always tasty. I stopped in for a little something every time I walk by.Unless there are more than half a dozen people in line, which happens all the time, but they definitely move fast.Yum!
Food is consistently good. The dry-fried beef river is full of wok flavor, and the bamboo noodles taste good.

The food is excellent in quality and preparation. They have some vegan options although not always clearly marked. I had the fried Chinese broccoli with garlic sauce and tofu. It was delicious and filling. Very affordable too. The owners are very friendly and the restaurant is super clean.
Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options, some vegan options. Excellent food.

Roasted duck is ok, a bit too fat for my liking. $17 for half
Great Shrimp Fried Rice
An authentic taste to the wor won ton soup. Very delicious and will be going back. Parking is hard to find, but if you are near and want some good food. This is the spot.
Love the duck over rice and barbque pork fried rice. Excellent. And the duck is the best best best.
