We came up from the peninsula on our way to our boat in the Delta and stopped for breakfast at the Black Bear Restaurant in Oakley. The restaurant was in tip-top shape, well taken care of and managed, food was absolutely yummy, and Veronica had a smile on her face during our entire visit. She was just exceptional and spectacular! All our family members are dire fans of black bear diner. We wanted to try this Oakley location as we were passing by this city. We ordered our all time favorite Cobb salad. We found that the bacon was overcooked, and I could hardly find a few pieces of avocado ? and crispy chicken. 3/4th of the salad was only lettuce. Otherwise, the ambience and service was pretty decent.

I'm not one to put a negative review. I've tried talking to my server asking question she just had no time for that. Anyone been coming here for years. My go to is the open face hot turkey sandwich. HOWEVER just left there it used to be carved turkey thick pieces Now it's literally lunch meat thin slices cold cuts extremely salty. I gave the 4-stars because my daughter steal n eggs was ok. But hey folks what's up with the open face hot turkey sandwich thin sliced lunch meat very disappointing for the cost

Man, this has gotta be one of the absolute worst breakfasts I've ever picked up. I ordered scrambled eggs with biscuits and gravy with a side of fresh fruit. As you can see from the picture it's a huge pile of biscuits (hella dry) and barely any gravy, horrible! The eggs were average at best. Even if these guys contact me for a free meal I will decline and save myself the gas in my tank and the gas in my stomach. I just threw it away.. Save yourself the disappointment!
