One of the best, most interesting meals I've had in a while! The food was creative, delicious, and artfully presented. The kitchen was incredibly accommodating to allergies and dietary restrictions. The staff were all very friendly and professional, as well. One of my new favorite spots in OSide.

One of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life (not exaggerating — I’m a picky eater!). Every dish carries a story and meaning behind it — and if storytelling isn’t your thing, fret not — each dish bursts with flavor, love, and a deep sense of care. Only a few chefs truly pour their hearts into research, taste, and quality ingredients while balancing them all into a beautiful plate — and 24 Suns has two of them! Chef Nic and Jacob, take a bow — everyone else, take a bowl! You’ll find yourself coming back here for many, many meals.

This is definitely a Michelin star dining experience. The food was incredible and so was the service. Thank you, Jacob!

We had been wanting to try this place for a while as there's a lack of fine dining in SD. But, boy, what a disappointment. If you can first get over the fact you are paying top dollar to eat in a strip mall in the middle of nowhere with zero charm nor atmosphere, then next you are not really wowwed by the food. It's not Chinese in any way. Too salty, not flavorful enough, and the duck dish left me with an furry aftertaste in my mouth for the rest of the night. Service was acceptable - nowhere near fine dining levels. You get better service at half or a quarter of this price point. If you want to charge 77 dollars (+tip) for a half of a duck, you better be able to back it up.

We honestly didn’t enjoy most of the food.

This was a major letdown. Not a single dish truly delivered on flavor. The Bird’s Nest tasted odd, the Robuchon shrimp and the dumplings with squash base were just okay The worst was the 5-Region Half Duck—it was downright unpleasant. Save your $77 and skip that one.

Despite having a reservation, we waited 35 minutes to be seated. The only saving grace was the staff — polite, attentive, and professional. Unfortunately, good service can’t make up for overpriced, underwhelming food. Definitely not worth it.

It was a disappointing visit for me. The food was 3.5/5, but the location and ambience were a 1/5.

I had been looking forward to visiting 24Suns, as it markets itself as “fine Chinese dining” on its website. I had high hopes. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to that promise—the restaurant is neither fine dining nor truly Chinese.

Location and ambience: The restaurant is located in a random plaza in Oceanside, right next to a donut shop and a taco shop. The table layout is cramped—I was just 1–2 feet away from the two neighboring tables and could clearly hear their conversations. And I’m sorry, but if you’re going to target yourself as a fine dining restaurant, details matter—like ensuring the only restroom has hand towels available.

Food: I appreciated the creativity and variety of the menu, especially the duck dish. That said, this is clearly an Asian fusion restaurant, not a Chinese one. I mean… “Brown Butter Fried Chicken”? That is an interesting choice to put on the menu. It is tasty though.

Most of the dishes I tried were enjoyable, except for the Dongpo pork belly—it was far too salty and dry. Dongpo pork should be slow-cooked and melt-in-your-mouth tender, but this version missed the mark.

Overall: There’s quite a bit the restaurant needs to address before it can justify the menu prices or the “fine Chinese dining” label: improve the overall dining ambiance, reconsider the branding (perhaps leaning into the Asian fusion idea so customers wouldn’t have false expectations), and attend to small but important details like restroom hand towel replenishment and mismatched chopsticks. And please—use less salt.

Such a fun and unique experience! Great for a date night. Food was incredible, perfect combination of flavors, these chefs are absolute Pros. Service was impeccable, our waitress knew the menu like the back of her hand and made great recommendations. Saki 10/10 super unique selections. Location a bit odd, but it was all part of the magic! Will definitely go back

Every dish we had was amazing. Only managed to snag a photo of the pork belly though. The sirloin was out of control good. Great hot tea selection as well. They were also very accommodating to some allergy concerns.

I can't wait to come back.

Amazing food. The servers think highly of themselves to make you feel welcome. If they could just change the quality of service it would be truly incredible.

Five star Michelin food, the flavors were excellent. The service however was not great. We were left waiting for service from the time we entered the door. I can live with bad service but when the prices are Michelin star prices I expect the service to match.
