I am happy to see that this place is still in business. I live in New Mexico now, But, I lived in Oceanside a little over 30 years ago. I Never forgot the wonderful food & service. I Remember "Patty" & "Jose Ochoa." I hope they are doing Good today, Great memories of food & Friendship.

I have lived next to this place for so long and never tried it and I am mad at myself everyday because of it!!! Sweetest lady of all time at the counter. The food is absolutely incredible. 10000/10.
I chanced on this place without knowing how it would blow my mind. I had the chicken asada fries and Carlito's burrito (wet with red enchilada sauce). This was a fancy choice, as it was a fork and knife affair. Boy oh boy, chicken like this isn't even holy, because it has no right to be this delicious. Everything down to the salsas and horchata are made with love. This is run by a mom and pop's couple and they could not be anymore lovely.This is truly authentic to the chicken bone. You'd be a fool to not love this place.Vegetarian options: They have vegetable soup.

I was there a few weeks ago to get something to eat while hubby was out of town. I always heard the food was good but I was disappointed. The chicken was extremely dry like it was sitting out all day. the rice was so so but I've had better. I won't be going back.

If chicken is in the name, I'm getting chicken. It's a simple concept but you should always go with a restaurant's strengths. AND CHICKEN IS IN THE NAME.This is an unassuming little restaurant. I wouldn't really call it a classic taco shop but you can certainly get tacos, burritos, etc. And they have carne asada, adobada, etc. But chicken is in the name so here we go.The Carlito's Special comes with two pieces of chicken, rice, beans, and three freshly-made tortillas.The chicken is very fresh and delicious but you simply don't get enough of it. The two pieces you get with the special are not enough. I would recommend ordering half a chicken next time and getting tortillas on the side. The tortillas are excellent. The rice and beans were also good, and better than your regular taco shop.I also tried the adobada burrito and it's a big boy. It's pretty darn good even if it's not chicken.Friendly service. If you like freshly-grilled chicken, give them a try.
