As a Peruvian, I arrived to this place excited at the opportunity to eat amazing Peruvian food. Reviews made it sound as a great place to eat, so I came with great expectations. I ordered a lomo saltado and my daughter a chicken arroz chaufa. Food per se was not bad, in the sense, that if you are not familiar with Peruvian food you would probably like what they gave us. My lomo saltado and the arroz chaufa were NOT Peruvian food, they lacked Peruvian seasonings and flavors. The lomo saltado, was like a regular stir fry, but non of the characteristic juiciness acidity and awesomeness, it didn’t even have tomatoes. The arroz chaufa was flat, not to mention that the rice was so overcooked it bordered plaster like texture. On the other side, the place looked nice and the cashier/waiter was really attentive and fast.

A hallmark of a good restaurant is a solid foundation, and given the high quality and freshness of the breads from the bakery this is a good restaurant. Bland, dry or excessive bread can ruin a dish, but Casera’s bread is exceptional and makes every plate we tried taste divine. Great food, nice atmosphere and reasonable prices.

We came 7ish so the original dish I ordered was out of stock. This actually makes me feel good knowing the food is made fresh each day. I got the Verde freshly made juice(refreshing and yummy) and a Peruvian dish;Seco de Carne. My husband paired his Peruvian Tallarin Verde w/Breaded chicken and a Colombian beer. The Colombian beef empanada was delish. We grabbed caramel Flan and dulce de leche (caramel in a flakey cone) to go. I cannot wait to go back to try another dish. The service was great and the person who served us at the counter was helpful and smiled the whole time! Great choice by my spouse! P.s. we have had Peruvian food here on coast highway and Colombian food in Atlanta. I was not expecting much on the flavor side with my past experience…this was a welcomed surprise!

Very disappointing.,we drove from Temecula to try this place out.,Bandeja Paisa 2 out of 5 the meat had a weird taste to it, Empanadas were big but the dough inside wasn't cooked all the way and the bigger disappointment no aji., you can't have Colombian empanadas with out aji.,the area and papa rellena were 2 out of 5, we order the fry plantains with the cheese and it was not prepared the traditional way, the coffee I ordered was burnt and old, the only good thing was the bread ,the pandebono and bunuelos were on point., but sadly the food was very mediocre

Our office ordered several items from Casera for a multi-cultural office luncheon. Everything tasted great and people are already asking when we can do something like that again!

Well, I'm not going to lie I was a bit let down with my experience here. Coming from the East Coast my family and I adore Colombian food, so when my brother mentioned he found a spot nearby we all were so excited to try. We came by on Labor Day and it wasn't too busy whe. We first arrived, which we were happy about. To start off we were all VERY happy about the empanadas, user crispy, great balance to meat and potato on the inside. The buñuelos could have been better, they were hot but it didn't give freshly made..more like reheated.
I ordered a coffee in the beginning to have as a pick me up before my food and didn't get it til right before we all left. Now when it comes to the main meal I ordered the bandeja paisa and so did most of us. My mom first thing noticed it didnt have the the small arepa, which none of our plates had it. My food was missing the avocado and the fried egg..I had to request it.
None of the finished plates were cleared throughout our time there and it seemed like it was only 2 people working because the same guy taking our order was the same guy bringing our food and assisting everyone else who came in. Seems to me a few things could be worked on.
I plan on returning because the inside was super cute and just hoping to have a better experience next time around.

Amazing pastry options here: pan de bonos, alfajores, cookies and various Latin American treats.
The stuffed arepa (kind of like a delicious Colombian taco) was amazing! 5/5
The lomo saltado was ok. It's better at Al Toque.
We will be back for more pastries and arepas!

Nice local Colombian food spot, we liked the signature deep fried pork, just a bit salty on the seasoning, but the pork skin is perfect.
