Cash register girl followed me around like if I was trying to steal something I now know how it feels terrible
Airy local space ,nice spot for lunch. The overall vibe was beachy breezy and conventionally formulaic.
Super sweet and laid back people working here! And they are so accommodating to little ones. The shop is adorable and I wanted to buy everything. I got the açaí bowl and a cold brew, my friend got avocado toast. we sat outside, food came really quick for a Saturday in July at lunchtime :)
It seems like this place has had some ups and downs over the years by way of quality and upkeep of the shop, but today I wanted to write a review because everything was excellent shout out to the staff you’re doing great!
Love the place.
Quite nice location, will say it is a bit pricey but if you have the funds it’s worth it. The harvest bowl was filling and so was the avocado toast. SKIP on the hojicha but GRIP the matcha it’s quite high quality for anything else nearby. The ube matcha was good and I would have gotten another matcha if I knew the hojicha was gonna be bad. The avocado toast was also filling and I would come back here again if I wanted that ube matcha again. The breakfast sandwich was also good.
Although I just had coffee the coffee was excellent! The wait staff was wonderful!

Wish I could give. A higher rating. This place is trying really damn hard. TOO HARD. But they fail to have any way to contact them when they do not hit the mark. I am from out of town and visit the area regularly for work. I have been a few times now and have had to learn the ropes. No cash. No phone. Small portions. But now my transaction was authorized for one amount and a full day later they changed that amount to a higher one. While they may not accept good American cash as tender they do have a tip jar and while I now regret tipping at all I did tip in cash so I have been wondering if they say no tip and decided to just add one without my authorization. I thought I would give them a call. Doesn’t make much sense to have a number that is never answered AND has no voicemail setup. I called several locations and ONE had a voicemail. I left a message but a week later still no response. I sent emails, no response. I don’t use credit so I actually got a Venmo card to use at this place and called them. They have an investigation process which takes 2 weeks so I am going through that now. I would not recommend this business any longer as they do not address concerns and overcharges which is pretty important. It also made me wonder how many people they do this to that don’t notice??? If I didn’t have the card I did I wouldn’t have received a notification that they added $3 to my transaction and refused to allow me to contact them. BEWARE!!!!

A lovely and lively space. Had a few coffees, enjoyed the atmosphere, and finished it off with an excellent Espresso Martini. Make it a point to come enjoy the neighborhood and have a great coffee drink!

We visited here numerous times on our recent stay in the area. We just feel in love with Communal. The coffee and food were so good, and the atmosphere is perfect. Can't wait to go back on our next trip.

Some of the loveliest coffee shops I've visited! There's a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating, and it is a great place to work or meet up with people. The space itself is light and bright. Their menu offers a great selection of drinks and food. The market area has so many cute and aesthetic trinkets and home goods.

Cute place, especially on a nice sunny day. But the food is always just meh.. has potential, but bland.
For instance, avocado toast is really just one slice of bread with half an avocado, salt and pepper ($12).
It feels like a quick meal my friend would make if I visit them while she is super busy dealing with kids.
It needs some sort of a spread, and a sweet flavor such as balsamic drizzle or sweet onion to add more flavor.
And their bathrooms are nasty!
Hoping they improve their food without raising the price because it's overpriced for what they are atm. Otherwise we'll slowly come here less and less.

My only problem are the restrooms inside communal cafe are just dirty. Urinal is clogged. There is Toilet paper strewn all over the floor. The toilet surfaces are covered in pee residue and hairs. The sink is dirty too w hair and grime ):
