What a fantastic find! The papaya salad was so full of flavor and everything tasted wonderful. Recommending it to everyone I know.

Choose the short ribs if you are looking for a flavor-filled meal, the Pad Thai for consistency, and absolutely order the cheesecake for dessert. You can skip the appetizer, it fell flat for us. We got there at opening and it was loud inside.

Very few restaurants nail food, drink, service, and ambience. This is one of the outliers that hits it all. Make a point to visit when you're in North County SD.

Cool spot serving up Indonesian food. Priced well despite the trendy atmosphere. Great for date night. The service and food were great. My only gripe is for the atmosphere I would expect more attention to the restroom for a Michelin recognized establishment. And since we were seated by the window we the restaurant's music competing with the live music from the place next door. Two very small surmountable details.

Pretty skeptical of Asian Fusion restaurants but Dija Mara did it right on point. Flavors and spices were very Asian and delicious. Their menu had a good variety to choose from and we thoroughly enjoyed every item we ordered - especially the whole fried fish with slaw and the sea bream ceviche. Would love to return!

Highly recommend Dija Mara in Oceanside. The food was amazing and designed to share. Everything we ate was delicious with the perfect amount of spice. Great atmosphere, hospitality and service. We got the Grilled Roti (LOVED), Gado Gado, Beef Rendang, and Whole Fried Market Fish. We also tried the chef's special coconut and pumpkin (panna cotta like) fall desert! Will definitely be going back for this before it's gone. Grab some friends or your special someone and make a reservation asap. You will not be disappointed.

We had such a great dinner here! We lived in Asia for several years and love when we can find authentic yet unique dining in the US. Dija Mara's menu brought so many memories back. The food was excellent! Standouts were the charred eggplant, nasi goreng, and beef rendang.
We arrived a bit early for our reservation, and they were still able to seat us right away. It was also a great way to use our Resy AMEX credit! 10/10 recommend.

Restaurantji Recommends
The dishes were very un balanced I got the short rib, the only think I could taste was cinnamon, not to mention the bartender was very rude and did not poor the drinks properly, I was very exited to eat here only to be very disappointed. Not only that. My girlfriend is obsessed with taking pictures of her food, the presentation was so half assed.

100% recommend, add it to your bucket list, take your friends and family. It’s a great restaurant.
Food is delicious, here’s why:
- flavor combination and balance is spot on and the dishes are great if your looking for dishes/flavors you won’t find at most other restaurants
- great variety of dishes without having an overwhelming menu. I’d say there is something for everyone. There are lighter dishes like the roti and papaya salad and heavier and spicy ones like the eggplant (chefs kiss, fr).
- portions are good, as in, not too small, but also not too large. We had just enough of a dish and had room to keep trying other dishes.
- ok ok the dessert is perfection, please get it
My favs so far have been the roti with both dipping sauces (one is spicy), the eggplant (spicy), the beef tartar, and the ayam penyet (fried chicken dish).
The papaya salad was delicious and refreshing, however I was expecting sweet, orange papaya and I think this used green papaya, perhaps both? Good, bright lime flavor.
Make reservations in advance, street parking should be easy to find. Bar is for walk-in’s, but it stays pretty busy here.
Happy dining!

Great food, super delicious and unique. The staff is very standoffish and snooty so don't expect smiles or patience when answering questions.

Do not waste your time trying to do a walk in. We were informed by host at 6:45 pm that they will not be accepting anyone anymore. No wait time given just turned us away.
