This is my favorite El Pollo Loco in San Diego County. I have lived all over the county, and in 35 years here, have been to quite a few of the El Pollo restaurants. There's just a really good vibe at this location, and whenever I come there I feel it, I can't explain it. Treat the staff nicely and they will treat you nice back.
The food is always good and the service is always great. There is always parking, and the drive thru is quick. They deserve recognition for making this a great place to visit, and I hope you get to check them out soon, and give them the appreciation they deserve.
And no, I do not personally know the owner or the employees, this is an honest review from someone who has visited there at least 20 times over the years. I have been lazy about putting out reviews the past few years, but I think I'm going to pick up pace again, because I have noticed lately that having access to reviews of places to live and places to shop, etc., has really helped me elevate my own personal experience, by allowing me to make well informed choices.
If you want to save a few dollars, make sure that you have the app and you sign up for rewards and deals. Check your app for internet specials and such. Make sure to have the employee scan your barcode on the app when you make a purchase, so you can get points. On your birthday they will also send you a $5 coupon for any purchase

Everytime I come here they always give me half a cup of Queso!!!! Why are they so damn stingy!? Im paying for it! And today my chips were so stale ! I’m over this location ! And they always forget something that I ordered!

It's not as good as it used to be. The lack of salsa bar with 8 types of salsa is a big deal.
Edited to add - In response to owner comment. It doesn't require more details. There used to be a salsa bar with several choices. Now youre given a skimpy little pack of sauce and have to ask for more.

Their chicke and tortillas are really bad.. The chicken is hard and raw in other spots, as well as burnt, and the tortillas are way too small sometimes and break apart really easy, as well as taste really weird. But that's just my opinion, it's a good place but not something I prefer.
