The service was excellent, I sat at the bar and both bartenders were extremely friendly and pleasant. I took the bartenders recommendation on trying the fish and chips and was not disappointed, their twist is the cornmeal breading which gave it an excellent texture and crunch, the cod was a bit underwhelming in flavor but that’s expected when it’s fried. I love shoestring fries, and theirs were fried perfectly. The tartar sauce tasted in house made. A decent selection of bourbon with decent prices considering its downtown. I didn’t have to wait longer than 10 minutes for a table. I would definitely be returning to try the other offerings.

Dennis was the best‼️‼️
We originally were going to do a takeout order, but he was so nice that we decided to stay & eat.
ALSO the fig burger was to die for, best burger of my life honestly.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!🫶🏼

We did a family dinner at the Flying Pig and everybody loved it!
First off, if you're going on the weekend, parking is tough but you will find a spot. If you don't, there is a paid lot across the way.
The location is in a lively part of downtown Oceanside and super friendly and safe.
The restaurant itself is cozy with a cool lodge type feel.
Service was very friendly and quick.
Everybody loved the food which was high end pub style eats. Tons of options and every plate at the table was empty at the end of dinner.
If you're in Oceanside the Flying Pig is a great choice for dinner.

The pork belly is worth the trip! I'd go out of my way just to stop here going to and from San Diego. Their drinks were just as amazing; try the Summer Vacation mocktail. The food can be expensive, but it's worth every penny.

Went here last year with friends for brunch. The shrimp and grits had great flavor, though it was a bit too soupy. The other dishes were average overall, which made the place feel a little overrated. That said, the service was excellent and the staff were genuinely lovely. They made us feel welcomed, valued, and right at home.

Party of 4 for late lunch… AMAZING service and DELICIOUS food. All staff were courteous and it was obvious they were proud of their restaurant. Owner took time to give us recommendations for other places to dine - supporting this great city. Great first impression of Oceanside!

By far, this was our favorite restaurant we visited during our trip to California.

Right out of the gate, Sean and Denis were friendly, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Their hospitality made our evening both enjoyable and memorable.

We ordered the pork chop, and it was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and beautifully seasoned—served over creamy grits and finished with a savory olive sauce. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it again. We paired it with the macaroni and cheese, which was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor, featuring house-made bacon that took it to the next level. It was a filling and satisfying meal.

The bar has an excellent selection, and Sean did a fantastic job recommending wine and beer pairings that complemented our food perfectly.

We finished the night with beignets. While they’re not New Orleans style, they were absolutely delicious—especially the one Denis suggested filling with banana pudding. Sinfully sweet and worth every bite.

This is a must-stop when you’re in Oceanside, and without question, a definite revisit the next time we’re back.
