I love mead. I’ve tried nearly everything I can get my hands on, including shipping things from half a world away. I first tried Golden Coast Mead today at the Poway farmers market and they are truly making something special. The booth was worked by a wonderful woman named Jessica who gave me a $5 tasting flight and let me in on a delicious little secret regarding sweet and sour. I purchased bottles of Wildflower Sweet, Wildflower Sour, and Triple Chili. Highly recommend. Stop by if you want to find out about the secret for yourself!
This small meadery was such a great find on my mead tour! Informative and delicious they really delivered and even had jewelry made with bees inside. Super cool place!
A wonderful local meadery located in Oceanside. The founders and owners pour their passion into the business and it shows in the quality of their mead. Definitely visit their tasting room and enjoy one of my favorites, Wildflower Dry or Sour.
Great mead and A+ staff
I have been obsessed with mead from Golden Coast since I first tried it at a San Diego farmers market. The “O’Mel” is the BEST, but more recently, I have loved their canned mead. I live in LA and always make sure to stop by if I go down to San Diego.
Closed I guess?
Came up to check this place out after chatting with the fellow down at the Hillcrest Farmers market the weekend before. We got the flight of four meads and sat in a cozy little corner on the sofa to enjoy them. All of their meads were amazing. I also tried their soda, and I recommend NOT skipping out on that just because its not alcoholic, because as a non-soda drinker I have to say that this soda was incredible. All of their drinks were light and refreshing and very palatable.
The fellow we talked to at the market also makes really cool bee resin jewelry out of honey combs and bees who have passed away (apparently workers only live six weeks, so its cool that he immortalizes them in this fashion). The lady at the tasting room who helped us was Abigail and she was a delight. Their space has a really cozy and eclectic feel, they're clearly a smaller company so it doesn't have the resources that so many big tasting rooms like Kilowatt might have but they took a space and made it feel warm and inviting and chose a lot of cute items to reinforce the theme of bees and pollination. A great space I would love to revisit soon.

Don't get the Sunshine Mead it's terrible. Don't worry I'll save you from it. I'll drink it all so you aren't subjected to it.Oh man, you caught me. It's all terrible. I'll drink it all for you!Try it you won't regret it.
Friendly, attentive staff and fun atmosphere. Try a flight of diverse meads to discover your favorites.

This was my first time trying mead and I enjoyed it quite a bit! Most of their flavors taste and feel very similar to wine or some like sour beer. I mention this because it sounds like it’s distinct from other meaderies. My only knock is that there’s no food available, which probably contributed to us not ordering more mead. Even a free popcorn machine or bowl of pretzels would go a long way.All in, worth a visit to try something different!

So I bought 2 bottles of mead and was charged $5 deposit for each and told that i could bring the bottles back for a refund or use in against a future purchase. I went there today Feb 24, 2021 and was going to buy some cans of mead and brought my 2 empty bottles for a refund. Then I'm told that they don't refund the bottles. So I took my bottles with me, left without buying anything and will NEVER be back.
Best mead I’ve ever had. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. If I lived in the area I’d be there every weekend. Do yourself the favor and roll through!
Awesome place with great mead. I loved the quaint ambiance and friendly bartender. Would definitely recommend!
