Handel's Homemade Ice Cream

By far the best ice cream we had while visiting Oceanside! We even went back 2 more times after a few other places couldn't match up! The Smores and Salted Caramel Truffle were our favorites, but the Ooh Dough was also good! Definitely going to miss it when we leave!

Near iconic chain of ice cream shops in San Diego, voted one of the best ice creams in the work by many !

This shop is no exception!! Great ice creams and good service. Expect long lines during the day.

You can't go wrong with any flavor of ice cream at Handel's! We've been to 3 of them in Carlsbad, Oceanside & this week Huntington Beach!

The ice cream sandwiches were amazing. I particularly liked the mint chocolate chip.

If you go through the flavor list online and then show up to order it, possible disappointment. The storefront only carries 2/3 of the flavors. If you are older and don't carry a smartphone, you are screwed, because the menu is on a QR code, no printed menu available at the storefront. The 2 young people working there were rude and condescending to me. Lastly, the sign touts the ice cream as " Best on the planet", and although it was quite good, my friend and I have both had better.

Vegetarian options: there’s a vegan option in mango and/or strawberry

Parking: very busy during peak hours and thursdays cause of the sunset market but other than that it’s great

Kid-friendliness: cars/motorcycles passing by are very loud sometimes but other than then it’s great
