The staff need to be trained. Slow service and they were not very attentive to our needs. The food was so so.

About 6 of us retired friends stopped in for lunch. We stood for about 5 min before someone said they'd be with us in a minute. We seated in a picnic table on the patio. Drinks and setups arrived about 5 minutes later. We placed our orders and waited. They brought us drink refills about 30 minutes later. The man who brought us the refills. asked if there was anything else. We said yes, we haven't received any of our food. He asked if we ordered and we said yes. His quick retort was "well, then you will just have to wait"....okay so he needs training. After the long wait, the food arrived. I had the fish and chips, which came with Cole slaw that had an odd flavor of canned pineapple chunks. I asked for malt vinegar, which arrived without the plastic squirt adapter, so it was careful pour from the bottle opening. Had to ask for salt and pepper. My friends echoed similar complaints. Great location on Coast Hwy, but needs big improvements in both back and front of the house. Not worth my $27 tab.

Usually get great service at Harbor Cafe. Today not so much. We were seated promptly, a waitress let us know she would be right with us. Granted they were busy no problem we were happy to wait our turn. Waiting 20 minutes seeing other tables being serviced and no waitress to our table not even acknowledged we left. Sad because we very much enjoy the food an the atmosphere. Might try again another day we will see.

Please think about offering better syrup, even for an upcharge. A breakfast place nowadays that doesn't offer maple syrup ... disappointing. Other than that, decent food and compared to other restaurants in the area parking was to be found and it was quick to get seated on a Sunday morning.

Would give 0 stars if I could first when we had to wait 30 minutes and we where fine with that we get some places can get busy but when it was finally our turn to get seated we asked for a booth but they said we couldn't have it we finally came up and got a booth they took our drink orders and it took them 10 minutes to get drinks again we get it can be busy but 10 minutes for drinks? The service was horrible our waiter checked up on us just once during the whole time there food was cold when we got it because it was sitting under the lamps for I'm not kidding a whole hour this place needed to pick up the paste and get things together also it was very cold in there if you do plan on eating here I highly advise you not to unless you got 3+hours to spare

Really, love this place. The food was wonderful. Great food and nice atmosphere. They just got a 4 on service because they were busy and forgot us a couple of time, but they were friendly which means alot!

I recently went to Harbor House Cafe for breakfast and was extremely disappointed with the service. From start to finish, the experience was unpleasant and left a bad taste in my mouth.First of all, it took forever for us to get seated even though there were plenty of empty tables. The hostess seemed overwhelmed and disorganized, and it took her several minutes to even acknowledge us. Once we were finally seated, it took another 15 minutes for our server (taller older lady with tattoos) to come by and she also took orders of tables that got seated after us.The Server did not even offer us any refills and we had to ask the young lady bussing tables for a refill. She was working hard and we felt bad bothering her.Overall, I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Harbor House Cafe. The service was terrible, the food was good butnlike i saod the service was terrible.There are plenty of other breakfast spots in the area that provide much better service and quality food. Save yourself the frustration and avoid Harbor House Cafe at all costs.

This place is only open until 2 but the food is SO good! I had a lobster and Crab Pacific omelette and the hash browns were crispy. i also appreciated having mixed fruit option of the little jelly packets. (It’s the smallStuff, ya know?) Very friendly and attentive staff. Hometown atmosphere. My new neighborhood “haunt.”
