It was our first time coming to Homestate and we were so impressed. The staff was so nice helping us. The food is so flavorful I will definitely be here again. I got the trinity tacos and potatoes they were amazing!!!

I am born and raised from East Texas. Anytime I am missing home and or Texmex, I make a 30 minute drive just to come eat here! I always make sure to leave with a dozen of home made flour tortillas (that taste just like home) and a large cup of queso to take home with me after I eat a brisket taco or two (which are bomb) the Ranch Water is good too! Never have I ever been disappointed with food, service, or experience. 10/10 recommend!!!!

Sadly I think there was something dodgy in the food yesterday (May 6) as I had nothing else but a chicken taco (forgot name), Tijuana Panther, small quesadilla and potato slices.
I’ve been on the throne 13 times today (so far) pouring out brown water.
I tried to call to alert them in case they had a dodgy batch of meat but nobody picked up.
A damn shame as some of those pieces were tasty.

Unfortunately I got food poisoning from rancid bacon here yesterday. I thought the bacon looked strangely dark in color, but didn’t smell off. An hour later I was sweating and vomiting. HomeState tacos were the only thing I ate yesterday. Disappointed as I come here at least once a week, sometimes a couple of times a week. Will be taking a long break from HomeState now.

There are a lot of taco places to compete with....nice people, mediocre tacos. May have caught them on a bad day. I will try again soon.
I don’t waited over 30 minutes to get my order. Part of the meal sat in the tray for 25 of those minutes so was then cold. Worst service ever.

I have driven by HomeState enough times to be curious, but never knew what it was. We decided to drop in one morning on a whim, and we were pleasantly surprised. The vibe inside was well done: lots of Texas inspiration without being cliche and the staff was friendly and answered all of our questions. I liked the breakfast tacos a lot. Fair that some might want more, but I enjoy a simple, well done taco. Eggs were just right, the beans were spot on, and the brisket was perfect. The coffee options weren't too crazy, but it's a taco place. Get your coffee next door if you need one that bad.
